After an expensive clean up of the mould and following all of Tara Valley's recommendations in her report, the same mould issue occured within months the reconstruction.
She then denied all liability,

I recently discovered mold in my basement and called the Environmental Services Group Inc. Someone came and checked the humidity, took two air samples to see what type of mold we were dealing with and also checked for moisture in the wall. I received an e-mail within a couple of days describing the mold, the health risks it had on my family and easy instructions to get rid of it. Shortly after I noticed mold in my closet on the main floor of the house and on the window seals. I called the Environmental Services again, Ms. Valley came and was very thorough in her investigation. She discovered the main source of my problem being no air vents in my roof and gave me great advice regarding a cold storage room. Ms. Valley has also send me an e-mail outlining the steps I had to take to illuminate mold from returning. I have continued to e-mail Ms. Valley in respect to the changes I was told to make and she always returned my e-mails with valuable advice. I value Ms. Valley's advice and expertise. I would highly recommed the Environmental Services Group Inc. to anyone who experiences similar problems like I did.

"Our son has been suffering from cold after cold all winter. At first we attributed it to daycare, flu bugs going around but after 3 sets of antibiotics our doctor recommended having our house checked. We called Tara from Environmental Services Group to come and inspect. Low and behold there were two issues in our sons room. 1. She found that the window lintels were made of brick and were in poor condition allowing water to penetrate for who knows how long. No water was visible in the room but she found it in the wall cavity. 2. Our sons room adjoins the bathroom. The shower was found to be soaked behind the tiles and we had it taken apart and found black mold on drywall attached to my sons room. Although finding this was somewhat shocking, it was also a relief to be able to know that there was something serious affecting our son and to be able to name it and deal with it. Since moving into my apartment unit three years ago I have been dealing with an ongoing odour problem coming from under the kitchen sink. In May 2011, I started smelling a musty odour on the other side of the wall in my livingroom, coming from the baseboards and the electrical outlet. I had to have the windows open because of the odour and musty smell, so once it got humid I could not run the AC unit and I had to temporarily move in with my mother. In October 2011, I had Tara Valley do mold and environmental testing to determine the source of the odour as I was getting no help from property management. She was able to detect the odour immediately, where a previous inspector, several weeks earlier could not, and when the various pieces of equipment showed nothing related to mold, she made a second visit several days later to check the drains in the apartment with another piece of equipment. The second visit determined the odour to be drain related. Tara was very thorough in her inspection and I would highly recommend her to anyone with an enviromental issue they need checked out, be it mold or otherwise. She is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She determined the problem in my unit where the other inspector, who charged more and did less, failed to!

Few months ago, we hired Air Detectives Inc. to remove asbestos containing materials from our house. After removal they conducted air testing, but did not give us the results even after 10 days of asbestos removal. Paniking, i decided to call the Environmental Services Group Inc. company. Lindsay came to perform the air testing the following day and gave us the results in no time. Excellent service and very professional. I would highly recomend them.

We had Matt Magnus from Environmental Services Group (Moldinspections.ca) come out and inspect a bad musty odour in our basement. Turns out the musty odour was hidden mold growth behind the drywall in our finished basement.

Matt was able to isolate where the moisture and mold were present and give very detailed recommendations on getting rid of the mold.

I just purchased a home and after 2 weeks of living in the house the basement flooded. A major issue with the driveway caused me to suspect mold behind the foundation wall attaching to the driveway. I tore some of this out to find out what was going on and sure enough water was pouring in because of poor drainage. I called Moldinspections.ca and Tara Valley came out to do the investigation. I knew I was going to seek out damages from the former owner and after Tara came out she was able to give me a report that said that mold was present and came from a chronic water source prior to my taking possession of the home. Our daughter was continaully sick so we hired Tanya of ESG, to come and do an air inspection of our house to see if there was any problems. Upon testing the air we found out we had toxic mould in the walls even though there was no evidence at all. Our 14 year old home is all metal structure so this was shocking news to both us and Tanya, the owner of ESG. She called immediately upon geting the results from the lab to advise us to remove our daughter from her room, as the levels were so high.
She had high tech equipment and was very knowledgeable and had answers and solutionson how to remedy the problem. We liked that she only tested for contaminants and did not provide a service to fix the problem if there was one, so she did not benefit from a bad test result. Our costs were higher, as we had her come back several times to make sure the air quality throughout whole house was good before we re-insulated and drywalled again. She was very pleasent and polite and cared about her customers.
