Having heard so many horror stories about terrible contractors, we were skeptical about the reno process and finding the right team to work with. However, we felt so fortunate to have met Jay and his crew.

We had a super positive experience with Jay and his crew. From signing the contract to the final touches, everything went smoothly. Jay is honest, easy to work with and dedicated to delivering a high-quality product. He was super responsive to all of our questions and any changes we wanted along the way.

He was able to source materials when others had difficulty and found ways to rearrange work in order to minimize the overall delay. His whole team is very hardworking and weren't bothered by our constant visits. As an example, we chose to install a closet system in one of the bedrooms but we had provided an incorrect layout. Jay's team re-installed the closet correctly but didn't didn't give us any grief about it .

Anyone who has seen the finished product has given us the highest compliments and would ask to get his contact info. We would highly recommend Jay to anyone who is looking to upgrade their space.

Jay and his crew worked very hard, on time and on budget. The bathroom was done in a week, which would have taken other contractors a few weeks to get done, not to mention the higher cost. Jay provided an itemized reasonable cost upfront. Jay not only managed his reno project well, but also had lots of great ideas and being creative in solving the problems for clients.

We were really happy with the end result. Jay provided an excellent service post reno as well to fix the minor things discovered afterwards.

J.H. Construction was referred to us by my cousin for incredible attention to detail, skill and efficiency. This was our first renovation project days after closing on our first house. We fully renovated our main floor bathroom and renovated the basement shower. The jobs were completed ahead of schedule (under 10 days from demo to complete), on budget and the crew went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. The crew is very hardworking, kind and talented. The owner, Jay, was responsive, detailed, friendly and helped us review our priorities and offered expert suggestions to ensure the reno was everything we hoped for and more.

Jay and his team gutted and renovated main floor and second floor of my semi-detached house in high park. He was on schedule and all scope changes were reasonably priced. Jay was also helpful in finding solutions to the inevitable problems that came up. I have recommended to multiple friends and family members.

Scope: Full kitchen, flooring throughout, dig, level basement, add 3pc, create storage.

Jay and his crew were simply amazing. He walked us through the entire process, answered all questions we had. He has contacts in all the trades and schedules every one of them so perfectly, noting everything we had to do (which was very minimal). He breaks down all of the work, itemizing and including a budget for each, making it incredibly easy.

Once the work started his guys worked HARD! Each day we visited there was significant progress and there were NO stoppages. Most importantly, he was ALWAYS available to answer calls. Before Jay, we had met with several contractors and many wouldn't respond for days or weeks. He is an excellent Project Manager! The entire job was finished in 6 weeks! which was half the time we had anticipated.

Once the job was finished, he comes back to make any minor repairs (including dings and scratches we made when moving back in).

I can't say enough about how great Jay and his team were and how happy we are. We have recommended him to all our friends.

My brother had used Jay's services to update his house before selling. So we asked Jay to quote on renovating a bungalow my parents recently purchased. His quote was thorough and quite reasonable compared to other contractors. We replaced the floors, expanded the Main Floor Master Bedroom w. Ensuite Btrm & Walk-in Closet, put in a new Kitchen with new appliances, and changed the staircase leading to the basement. Jay and his crew were professional, efficient and reliable. They made our experience so much easier, when dealing with a reno in middle of covid wasn't challenging enough. Jay knows what he is talking about and we totally trust him. Jay was simply a godsend to us. After years of not being able to find a contractor or even anyone who could recommend any contractors they trusted, we had Jay come in to quote on a basement reno and help us finish up misc other renos to close some past permits. THe city inspector recognized Jay and said he has complete trust in him. THat was amazing to hear. Jay quoted fairly, was very flexible and his team worked so fast we could barely keep up with our part in deciding all the finishes and trim. They finished earlier than scheduled and every step of the process was so smooth. I have to disclose that before Jay, we had a nightmare of a time with major renos a few years back and it left us with countless deficiencies that were not insignificant. To find a contractor that we felt we could truly trust and who genuinely wanted to help us was so incredible. It truly lifted a burden off of us from the awful experience we had previously. Jay's brother also works on the team and he especially was very generous with his effort and care and we love to even have them over for dinner when their schedules free up and covid eases up. If you have the opportunity, definitely hire these guys. They are amazing.

We chose Jay because out of couple contractors came for the project estimation, he's the only one asked relevant questions related to the project. His estimate was accurate and no hidden (additional) cost at the end. Jay and his team were efficient , he completed the project on time even we later decided to include sewerage replacement for our basement . His whole crew were very professional, responsive, and with excellent workmanship. Thank you Jay and all the team members, we really enjoy our new cozy and contemporary home. Jay the builder did a fantastic job this Summer!!! It was smooth sailing from beginning to the end. All we did was choose the items online for the design and he will pickup and source it for us without us going to the stores. It went out of his way to have dishwasher delivered to his home so he can install for us he also re updated the cabinet for us without buying new cabinets which saved us thousands. Overall it was a great experience and it was also done sooner than we expected, which is rare in this Industry. Highly recommended.
