Steven and his team did a wonderful job with the storage cabinets and entertainment unit that truly completed our recently finished basement. Steven gave us great ideas for the design and finishes, the whole team was very professional. We are very happy with the results and definitely recommend them.

I met with Steven almost immediately after I sent him an email for a quote. He came by and started measurements and drawings and sent me a quote the next day. His pricing was reasonable as I had compared his with a few other places. We went with him right away and his team went right to work. Steven provided some timelines when the install would be ready and he stuck to them. The job took a few days to set up everything -- Atilla and Zsoet were such a pleasure to deal with. Very friendly and kind and always left everything so clean as if it were their home. We found Steven and Black Forest Woodworking company on Homestar and we were impressed by excellent reviews. Since we live on east end of GTA we were initially skeptic he would accept to visit and provide a quote. After an initial call, Steven accepted to come on site for consultation. Steven professionally answered all our questions and provided a competitive quote and reasonable timeline. Steven accommodated our requirements and help us design and build a floor to ceiling build-in unit including a desk and suspended book shelving in one bedroom (using the space of a build in closet). Also, in a second bedroom he designed and built an additional built in unit.
The majority of the work was performed offsite. During this phase we maintained a good communication by email or phone calls. The installation took about 2 days and our project was completed ahead of the provided time schedule.
We are very happy and impressed with the final result, so that we decided to work with Black Forest Woodworking company again.
Quality or workmanship, attention to details, positive attitude, punctuality highly recommend Steven.

We had Black Forest start with closets for our kids bedrooms. Older north york home with small rooms.Stephen was outstanding re design.The quality of his work is exceptional.His work was so good we just had him return in October to build a new closet in our bedroom and hallway. The professionalism of this company and the gentlemen who did the installation is beyond words. We plan to use them again for a basement project. Amazing woodwork and the attention to detail. So nice to say that for both projects we wouldnt be able to find even a tiniest thing in any room which we needed them to adjust or fix. Highly recommend Black Forest.

I contacted Steven from Black Forest Woodworking on referral from my mother-in-law, who had had a beautiful wall unit built by them. Upon meeting Steven, I felt completely comfortable and confident. He is very pleasant and professional with a great design sense. He was very open to working on the design together. I couldn't be happier with the finished product in my home. The quality is impeccable and Jolt, who installed the unit at my home, was an absolute perfectionist. I will be contacting Steven for future projects and would recommend them without a doubt.

We hired Steven to make and install some built-in cabinets, with fireplace, in our basement. After consulting several cabinet companies and getting wildly high costs and long time lines, Steven came and met with us. He was on time, and discussed with us exactly how we wanted to use the space and what our ideal units would look like. He came up with several suggestions and ultimately a good and fair price. The cabinets turned out beautifully and were done exactly on schedule. There were no cost overruns, no time delays, no bad surprises. Steven, and his crew, were extremely professional and pleasant to deal with. It was a pleasure to deal with someone who displays such incredible integrity. Thank you for a fabulous job. We are thrilled with the results and are enjoying our room tremendously. I would highly recommend you meet with Steven before hiring anyone to do your work.

From the moment we talked over the phone, Steven understood our needs and timeline. His estimate was the best around. The attention to detail from the beginning was outstanding. We showed him an online picture of the mantle we liked and he confirmed measurements on site. We showed him the crown molding and baseboard trim we were going to install and he incorporated them into the mantle. We did not have the gas insert installed nor the tiling done on the surround. He gave us the exact dimensions for the cement board and recommended that we have the surround tiled and insert installed before installing the mantle. His advice to have the tiles done first saved us big $$ on the tiling since they didn't need to cut as much tile to fill in an already defined space. Also, there would be no damage to the mantle from grouting. Steven was on schedule with production (5 weeks) and installation. Installation took ~3.5 hours. A lot of work was done to make it fit perfectly since the walls in our 100 year old home are not true. We also had existing baseboards that they were able to merge with the base on the mantle to look like they were done at the same time. Our living room was as clean after as it was before they started. I would highly recommend Steven and his Black Forest team for any woodworking project. We have already started the plans for 2 more projects!

Steven designed and built our wall units for our family room. We are so pleased with how they turned out. Steven offers quality work, beautiful design, and timely execution. He and his team are all professionals and a pleasure to work with.

We have a few other projects around the house to do, and will definitely be working with Steven again.
