Moving Company

These movers were great, and my review is about six months overdue. We moved at the beginning of August, 2011. I hadn't known my phone service would be cut two days before our move, and I hadn't given the movers my ADDRESS!!! when I made a deposit (yes, I failed to fill out the form they sent me). But the owners just waited around until the day of our move and let us call them, which we did grumpily, because we thought they were late. They weren't late at all; it was us who had screwed up. They had a team on standby, pulled them together in an hour, and arrived at our place mid-afternoon, did the move patiently and carefully and with good humour--from a house with three floors to another house with three floors. A tough move, tons of boxes. We got them beer and pizza at the end of the move. We were SO grateful to this company for not writing us off even though we'd failed to give them all the pertinent info. THANK YOU! Sorry it's taken me so long to post this.

Move - Condo to House

My wife and I recently moved from a condo in North York to a house in Ajax. We found RoadRunners online and called them because they seemed to have a good reputation. The same day I called, Brendon came over to provide a quote for the move. He provided a written estimate with the option of an hourly rate or a fixed price. We opted for the fixed price.

On the day of the move Branden, Ken, and Raleigh showed up right on time and began wrapping furniture. Throughout the move, they were polite, friendly, and professional. We had a lot of stuff in our condo and the storage locker was literally packed to the ceiling. Despite this, it took only 2.5 hours from the time they started until they were driving away. The unload was just as smooth. My wife was waiting at the house (they arrived before I did) to show the guys where to put everything.

Overall, both of us were very happy with the service. These guys got the job done quickly, they didn't break or damage anything, and the move cost exactly what they said it would.

Thanks guys.

Moving valuable and delicate furniture and material

I have used other moving companies before, some pretty good and resonable and some not so good.
Paul and his crew from RoadRunners are very flexible about helping and advising the customer about the best solution for an unexpected challenge. Allways creating a win win situation for the client, on time as promised and high quality standards. Paul is very knowledgeable and has a pleasing professional attitude. I would rather change my moving date than using another moving company for me in the future.

moving to new address

I have never experienced such excellent service from movers before. They arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently, were extremely polite, friendly and oblidging. After 14 hours of work, they were still polite and friendly and willing to place furniture wherever I needed them to be placed. I would recommend RoadRunners in an instant.

Moving from Townhouse to Condo

We used RoadRunners on Jan 9, 2012 and were very impressed with their service. They arrived on time early in the morning. We had three men to help with the move, Paul, Brandon and another chap. They were very professional and swift in moving my furniture. They took great care as if it was their own and had wraped it really well. I have moved twice before with some other movers and was very unhappy with the move as they had damaged my furniture and walls. With the expertise of Paul and Brandon, we had no stress at all for the first time. They used runners on the stairs and floors so nothing got dirty or damaged. They even refunded some money as they finished earlier then expected. We would definitely use RoadRunners again! They ROCK!!!

Moving my Mom from her home to a Condominium

This is the second time I have utilized RoadRunners. The first time was a few months ago when they moved me. My move was not a typical one as I had many oversize and very heavy items (up to 750 pounds per piece) As always they were unbelievably professional and courteous throughout the whole process. My Mom was very nervous over the last 2 days. It was a 2 day move. A Big one! All of Pauls co-workers were very polite and helpful every step of the way. The care that they take with all the items is extraodinary. I will be calling them again the future when I move again (hopefully not too soon). They truly deserve 5/5 stars as any body that can make my mom happy and less nervous when moving homes is truly a G-dsend. Kudos to RoadRunner. Great job guys !

Move 1 bedroom apartment to new condo

I went with roadrunners as my usual moving company was not available on the date that i needed them. i was very unimpressed. They sent 2 guys who seemed like they were NOT professional movers - nice guys, but just not organized, energetic or acting like they were on a job!!! my fiance and i had to help move things OUT OF MY APARTMENT and into the hallway as well as from my building foyer and into the truck while these two were doing God knows what. I was so destraught as i probably could have asked friends to move me and it woud have been the same. In addition, i had to pack ALL OF MY CLOTHES into the wardrobe boxes that were given to me. I told the movers that i had a time contstraint at the new place ( had 3 hours heads up to move out of a one bedroom before my booked elevator time at the new condo). At 2.5 hours into the move my couch, most my boxes and the bed were still in my place. The one mover i had asked to speed things up to told me to help with 'the little things'... I tried calling Paul/Brandon to ask for a 3rd guy to be sent at the new location i was moving to, as there was a time limit on the elevator booking and i was afraid we were not going to make it on time. I got a voicemail so i didn't bother. I had to call my brother in law to meet me and my fiance at the new condo, when the movers arrived, so that we could unload and get things upstairs in time for my elevator booking to end and not be bumped. I'm really really sad to say i had a bad move. it probably would have taken 8 - 10 hours at the pace these guys were going, so without the 3 of us (me, my fiance and bro in law) helping it would have been a disaster. like i said, the guys were nice and all but just NOT professional movers. We have a subsequent move (my fiance is leaving his place to move in with me) and i WILL NOT be using RoadRunners. I plan on calling Paul to let him know that i was not pleased with the service. The worst part is, i didn't put up a fuss, i paid, but i just want to say, their service up front in booking you is good and professional, but the actual movers they send are not up to snuff.

The crew present on this move were Kenneth and Raleigh, both of whom are well organized and efficient career movers who are responsible for many of our positive reviews on Homestars

The problems our customer addressed in her review were not a result of unprofessionalism as she described, but Rather a simple scheduling error on her part.

KR in Toronto reserved our services for February 11th, 2012 with a start time of 10:30am. Despite the bad weather Kenneth and Raleigh managed to arrive at her condo promptly at 10:30am ready to work. Unfortunately, KR in Toronto had reserved her elevator from 9 am that morning until 12pm, thus wasting a full 1.5 hours of available elevator time and leaving herself a narrow 1.5 hour window to move out of her condo.

Not an impossible task, but one that requires teamwork from all parties involved. KR's fiance offered a hand to move items to the truck while KR helped with the little things such as packing her clothes in the wardrobe boxes provided.

In spite of the inherent shortcomings of KR's move, it was completed without damage in 5 hours. Hardly worthy of 2 stars.

KR's distress was completely understandable given the situation, but also completely avoidable with better planning.
