We recently purchased a new home and wanted some work done on the electrical system, including the removal of aluminum wiring. We were very pleased with Major Mack – Charles was quick to respond to our emails and calls, was competitively priced and mindful of our timelines. Charles and co. were also on time, friendly, and took the time to provide us with explanations and options. An ESA inspection was arranged immediately and we received the certificate right away. It was a pleasure doing business with them and we would highly recommend Major Mack.

The job was done in a day and a half, other companies quoted these job at a higher price as well as having the job take a longer period of time to complete. I am quite pleased with the work that was done and Mr.Backhouse was a very friendly and knowledgeable individual. I recommend them to everyone.

I required a hook-up for an outdoor hot tub which consisted of running the power from the panel in the basement to the far end of my backyard where the pump is located. I could not be happier with the job that Major Mac Electrical did! Charles was very accommodating to my schedule, showed up on time (including a 2nd visit to do the final touches) and did an excellent job. He took a great deal of effort to minimize the visibility of the wire, and I appreciate the extra effort. Unlike many of his fellow electricians he actually answers the phone when you call him! I will certainly be contacting Major Mac Elecrtical for any future electrical work.

When I purchased a house last fall, the home inspector strongly suggested that i upgrade the electrical panel and all the switches and outlets in the home.

Basing my decision on the various companies reviewed here at HS, I contacted Major Mack Electrical on May 26/10. During our discussion, Charles explained to me the cost & process of moving from 125 amp to 200 amp and then made arrangements with Hydro One Brampton to have the electricity switched off. The job was done on June 8/10 by Charles and his assistant Usabal(sp). The ESA inspector passed the upgrade and I have since received the ESA's Certificate of Inspection.

In addition to the panel upgrade, I had a bathroom light/fan switch reoriented from the upstairs landing (a 70's design feature i'm guessing) to inside the actual bathroom. The other outlets and switches will have to wait for a future time when I can afford to do them.

The only glitch I encountered was the amperage for the water heater. For some reason the circuit breaker would trip after about 10 mins. However, Charles returned within days and fixed that problem.

Overall, I am very pleased and impressed with the results and the follow up service. Please take a look at the pics I have posted. I certainly recommend Major Mack Electrical.

We have used Charles, whose company is Major Mack Electrical, on several jobs since 2007. In each case, his work was done in a timely, professional manner, and for a very reasonable fee. His manner is friendly, and he listens to what we have to say before he commences the work.

I own a country property with acreage. Far from the house I have a shed/ cabin and for years always wanted to have electricity out there for a radio lighting, TV etc. Major Mack electrical created a battery solar powered system. Now we can even watch dvds as the sun sets on breezy summer nights.

Buying an old house our insurance company forced us to upgrade our wiring. Major Mack Electrical had an average price at $100 an outlet. They cleaned up before leaving every day and even recommended a great dry waller to fix the holes.

Our phone line was cutting on and off and getting to be a major inconvenience. Luckily I have a cell phone, so I called Major Mack Electrical and within two hours my call the problem was solved.

I called around to price out the cost to have pot lights installed into my finished kitchen. I got quotes between $70 - $90 a pot light. Major Mack Electrical supplied and installed 10 pot lights for $60 per pot Light and the work was completed in one day.

They were reasonably priced, fast and friendly! A pleasure to doing business with! We had to upgrade from fuses to breakers. Other Electrical contractors were in the $1200 -$1500 range. Major Mack electrical completed the work in a timely manner, it was a pleasure doing business with professionals.
