My husband and I purchased our first home in Pickering. We hired Arby Cartage to move us from our 2 bedroom apartment in Toronto to our new home.
Up to the move, Arby and Anil were very responsive to my questions, which was reassuring and appreciated.
The day of the move, we hit a MAJOR snafu, the service elevator in our building was out of order! Which meant that we had to use the only other working elevator to move our belongings, while sharing it with the other tenants in the building. Good thing we started our move at 9am on a Sunday.
Despite the snafu, Anil and his team were fantastic. We were moved, door to door, in 3 hours! Pretty impressive when we didn't have a service elevator. Anil is a power horse, charging up and down stairs ... I was worried for his safety at points, but I guess he has gotten used to it.
There were no major casualties to the move. A couple of items were scratched, but they were cheap Ikea pieces, so we weren't heartbroken.
The only suggestion I would make is to have it possible to pay by credit card. Or at least make it big and bold that you need a cheque for the day of the move (I'm sure it was on the contract, I just didn't read it at the time). Good thing I knew which box my cheque books were packed in!
Will definitely use Arby Cartage again and have already recommended them to the Facebook world.
