Lots of issues and the worst service I have ever seen. Service department and Tartan repair team have no clue! They are rude and unresponsive to customer concerns. Yes from the outside appearance theyou build beautiful homes but look at little closer, roof had 18 hours of repair during first year. Lots of issues with few resolved. Know your warranty before you buy!!!!!

There were many deficiencies around the house that had to be resolved. The main ones we found are that the plastic siding makes a lot of noise when its windy (still unresolved), and uneven ceilings that are very visible at any light from 2 meters +. There were a lot of other small issues that were resolved, however the ceilings have been worked on at least 4 times without much improvement. There were also a lot of excuses made by the builder saying they don't have to fix it that its only a "convenience". Very rude workers were sent over and they show up whenever they want not at the time scheduled, so good luck if you're at work. Wouldn't buy a home again from this builder, they are so nice to you until they get your money.

I bought a white cedar house , after only couple of years on a rainy day water penetrate the roof directly into my bedroom due to cheap building materials and missing isolation for roof, when I contacted them they answer very rude and the did not give a damn, it is only one word , your 2 year warranty expired, 2 years mean 2 rainy season only and you will discover how cheap materials they used and you have to pay for repairing a house of 2 years age only, really furstrated

If you're looking for a home builder that provides clear communication, great follow thru, and stands by it's word... then look somewhere else. Here are some of the highlights: Our buying experience was horrible, they quoted us for our hardwood 3 times and each time it was different and not by a small margin by almost 10k! They took no blame and no accountability. When we moved in we found the trades to be fantastic, but only if they actually showed up, they would schedule multiple trades, we would book a day off work to be home... and then nobody would show? Again did they apologize? Nope. When we finally decided to just get a refund for upgrades that were not completed, how long did it take? We're at 3 months an counting... When i brought this up to their apparently GM, Ian, he wrote us a letter saying it was all made up and that this would never happen. I guess he doesn't think the emails i have are proof enough? AVOID at all costs! You will regret your experience!!! Our entire neighborhood has had the same issues and again no accountability.

Good company, easy to work with, everyone tries to do their best, I recommend the company to anyone looking for purchase a new home. Lots of styles and selections, colours.

We bought a semi detached home from tartan because we thought at the time that they where a good company and really care about their customers. We paid over $400,000 for this home and they are giving us a really hard time with warranty repairs and and will not admit to their mistakes. The paint job is horrible I have nothing good to say about it. There are many gaps between the baseboards and the hardwood floor but they said they will not fix it because it falls in the normal range for spaces. Some of the baseboards actually where damaged then painted over before we took the house they did not even bother replacing them. The counter top in our 3rd full bathroom in the basement was scratched but we did not notice it until a few days after moving in because we do not use this bathroom much, it is intended for guests. The scatch is pretty significant and was probably cause by some kind of tool and I am positive it was not our doing because the only thing we had in that bathroom when we noticed it was toilet paper and soap. We added this to our 30day warranty form but they refused to replace the counter top because it was not on our 24 hour form. By the time we had to submit the form we had just finished moving in and had not step a foot in that bathroom. The tub in that bathroom was also cracked and it was on our 30 day form and they did fix it because there was no way they could point the finger at us because it was not possible that we could have done it. I could go on and on but I will wrap it up here. Over all not impressed, and my mother who is looking to sell her house and buy a bungalow will not be buying from Tartan for sure

I purchased a Tartan town house in 2012. When I purchased there we no model homes to look at, so we had to go by the semi models. The home looks beautiful but the quality of sound barrier it absolutely horrible. I expect noise in town homes, but my floors and walls shake and vibrate every time my neighbour walk or close doors. Not just a little but like a small earthquake passed by. When I spoke to Tartan about it their answer was it built to code. Anybody who comes to visit us is taken back by what we hear and feel throughout the house.

Going into the 2nd project and its been great loving tartan and would really recommend them fast closing and on time reno and develop that I've ever had - go tartan

solid ideas No more , Tartan home are not what i belived to be anymore, they are a corp , that makes u buy a very expensive house and they don;t service it when u call them, u have to call them 3 to 4 times, to make a service appointment, some thing they will tell you is seasonal and to wait , and when the time come they will tell u other wise. all i am sying is; when u buy a home from tartan it seem so friendly and when u service it ! specialy a year after they are not so friendly any more.. i am not going to refere any more person to buy a home from this company , maybe they sold too money home and they don;t care about old client anymore.. well i belive is we as old client that made tartan be on the top and we can bring them down if we all come together.
