Willowpark Upholstery & Fabrics

I ordered and paid a $3000.00 deposit for upholstery fabric from Willow Park Upholstery, Calgary AB, January 2012. After 8 months, I have only now managed to obtain my fabric and I would never let them take my furniture to be recovered. I experienced untruths,verbal abuse from the owner, David M. I finally notified him that I was going to obtain a court order..and that is when I managed to resolve this. There is a pattern here, having read several other Homestar reviews on this business.

DO NOT go near this business!!!!

$2000 left for fabric order, told it would be 2 to 3 weeks, came in 3 months later. Furniture picked up late June, now it's the end of August and still no furniture.
Asked to see the furniture, would not disclose location. We are now at 6 months and going to seek legal help.
Stay away from this business!!!!

We visited this store at the end of December. There was a very good sale on upholstery (apparently). We paid our deposit and ordered the material. After more than a month, we received a call saying it was in and our couch was picked up. We then got another call saying they hadn't sent enough fabric and that David would contact them and have more sent. It seems that they did not have any more of the fabric but would send some remnants that might be suitable. We waited quite a while and were finally told that David was fed up and cancelled the order completely. He offered to provide us with any fabric he had in the store and let us know that what we chose was more expensive but that he would absorb the cost difference. We waited another month and had not heard anything from him. Went to the store and asked. He promised it by the end of the week. When it was delivered, the cushions were stuffed with inferior material and very poorly done. We pointed this out to him and he said he would fix it. We told him we would not pay the remainder until it was done properly and he became very angry. We have the couch now (after 5+ months) and it is okay at best. We would not recommend this company to anyone.

I went to the shop to explain how they had recovered some chairs for us and the bottom material that covers the springs was falling off underneath the chair (drooping down fabric). David said they would pick it up the next day and bring it back the next day all repaired. I called 3 times and left messages to arrange. I called his cell and he pretended to be someone else when he answered. They pretty much did everything thing to avoid repairing their own work. I will not be going back for future work and will have this repaired somewhere else. I have never encountered such horrible customer service in my life.

Paid $390 down payment to order fabric, promised fabric would be in stock 2 weeks and then they'd pick up chair and would take 10 days to complete. After 30 days I began calling to see what was happening, after 2 months of no returned calls I drove over there. The owner said the fabric was in now and they would pick up my chair and told me I had not returned his calls and got loud and authoratative with me. I am fearful that if I let them take my chair I'll never see it again. Stay away from this business.

Very disappointed with the service and broken promises. The price changed and they did not deliver a cushion so my set is incomplete.
The 4 week promised delivery date ended up being 4 months.
Was glad to get my furniture back.

I was first promised 2-3 weeks for delivery of finished product. They made me 7 new promises all of which did not come true of when the job would be complete. It finally took two months. I was told they would make amends when the job was completed. When my daughter picked up the covers David told he put $300.00 worth of extra foam stuffing into the pillows to make up for the lateness of the job. David should have remembered that when he sold me the job he told me he was using the best materials on the market so how was it possible for him to have found better foam. He simply did not tell the truth. On top of that problem he did not make new pillows as promised. I wrote him a letter asking him to do two things #1 was to give me a $300.00 credit for the fact it took 8 weeks and #2 was to fix the pillows as he had first promised. He never even had the courtesy to respond. Do yourself a favor and go and take your business elsewhere.

Needed (our essentially brand new, custom Scandinavian modular) sofa reupholstered to match new decor, and wouldn't have EVER thought anything could go wrong until.. The sofa comes back with NONE of it's piping detail, once meticulously sewn corners are SMUSHED round and nearly 50% their original volume, rods for optional armrests & back (think removable headrests of your car) are compLETEly misaligned, the boards needed to maintain the modular pieces' structure are nowhere to be found, and they claim not to have received the 2 throw pillows noted in the quote to be reupholstered with. The most exasperating thing is the owner's denial of any wrongdoing despite my millions of detailed photos of the original. After pulling teeth, was offered replacement pillow FORMS ($15ea). Mmmhmm...
Couldn't look at the poor sofa anymore. Donated it.
