Great Northern Insulation

We had had our HVAC systems upgraded and used Northern Insulation to do the assessment for the Enbridge rebates. We also topped up our attic insulation for a further rebate.
The Northern team was excellent from start to finish! All went smoothly
from start to finish.

It all started by meeting James and Jason to acquire a quote to get the 60 years old attic insulation removed and proceed with a re-insulating our attic. Great Northern Insulation had a very competitive price, not the cheapest but the company, due to their representatives, was by far the one that inspired trust and good results. From the appraiser, the removal crew, the foam spray crew and the cellulose spray crew, everything went as planned. they showed up the day and at the time they said they would. That alone was bonus for me. They respect other people's time table. I am super happy with every steps, they left a certificate in our attic detailing exactly what and how it was done. Now I now that our home is ready for winter and that the job was done professionally. Thank GNI, I have no problem referring you to all.

This whole project from start to finish was a great experience from the sales rep to the two young men who arrived on the appointment date to do the encapsulation. The whole process was very professional from start to finish. It’s obvious the whole staff has a complete knowledge of the whole process. The price was totally in the ballpark of the four other quotes I received and the product and service were great. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy with the our project. I was looking for some one who can add insulation in attic and air seal for better energy performance. I got quotes from 2-3 contractors including GNI and found them reasonable in cost and ready to perform within my time lines. They have done a good job upto my satisfaction.

Ceiling insulation for a 20x 24 workshop which is heated for winter use. One day job which I should have scheduled earlier, my fault, not theirs. They came, put up the cardboard and the vapour barrier and blew in fibreglass ( R 40) into the ceiling. Cleaned up, nice and neat and left. Original estimation was done within one day of my call. Great service and well executed, no complaints at all.

Crew was prompt and courteous. Haphazard identification of air inflow, although I pointed out some concerns following an infrared study I had done. Had to complete insulation myself, even tho' concerns were pointed out and access was easy.

Quoted airflow readings differed from their device display. Final airflow percent reduction was calculated incorrectly.

Remember that windows, doors, panels, fireplaces and
aircon / HRV may all affect starting and ending airflow measurements, and hence what you pay.

We added insulation to our attic, we heard good reports about GNI so decided to try them out, we were not disappointed. The work was very professional and Jeremy and James were awesome. They left everything clean and tidy. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an insulation company.

Added R30 to the house attic to raise it to R60 & put R30 in the garage. Chris & Sean were efficient, polite & very informative. Helped me look in the attic afterwards.

As part of a reno, I paid to have some required insulation upgrades done. It was to be inspected with a follow up energy audit to allow a rebate. The work was not done suitably to meet the audit requirements. Had there not been an audit completed, I would have no idea that the work was done poorly. Also, a mess was left upstairs and in the garage. Disappointing as a consumer because I'm not auditing the quality of an insulation job. Apparently I should, because in the one and only case I've used GNI they have failed. They came to fix the problem with another crew and a supervisor to ensure it was done correctly. I work out of town, so I've had to adjust my schedule for a return visit by GNI and by the Energy audit group. GNI could only guarantee they'd be there between 1-3pm?? After they screwed up. In my mind GNI failed big time overall.
