I was away on a holiday when my next door neighbor, (who was looking after my house), phoned me to tell me that my furnace was not working. He tried various simple fixes, but the furnace was dead. It was freezing outside, so he ran the stove, as well as a small portable heater to keep the house from damage, until he could call a technician in the morning.
The technician, Brandy, arrived the next afternoon and diagnosed the problem as a plugged condensate reservoir. She scraped the deposits out of the drain container and re-installed it, all for the cost of a diagnosis!
This was a very good outcome for me. Having someone come into my home while I am thousands of miles away, to professionally make a trustworthy and inexpensive repair was a great relief!
Thanks, Brandy!
