Great company. They replaced my roof 23 years ago and I was happy to have them back again. The quote was reasonable and the process was easy. The team of three men were professional. They handled a huge hidden wasps nest with grace. They removed a decaying chimney and fixed my roof, it all looks great. I highly recommend them.

After some quotes from various roofing companies to replace the shingles on the roof of our semi-detached house, I decided to go with J Stewart Roofing Ltd. The owner, John, came to inspect the roof and took photos so I could see the condition of the roof up close. None of the other companies did that. John is a friendly, experienced and knowledgeable roofer. On the day of the job, the debris bin arrived promptly at 8am, followed by John's crew of three. The guys set up drop sheets and boards to cover the windows and doors for protection of our house and the neighbour's house too. The guys worked hard all day and into the evening with only a couple of breaks. Including cleanup they managed to complete the roof in one day! Wow! My neighbour commented that he was impressed by how careful and clean the guys worked. What really impressed me was when the guys came by the next day because they had forgotten to clean up one small area. This shows that they take pride in what in the work they do and care about completing a job as promised. I would not hesitate to recommend J Stewart Roofing for a quality job completed by skilled roofers using quality materials.

Between our house and garage, we needed to have multiple levels of shingle and flat roofs replaced. A friend recommended J Stewart, and from the beginning, John provided that extra bit of care and detail by going up onto the different levels to take photos and assess the scale of the work, which included the removal of a rooftop deck. Not only did we receive a quote very quickly, it was also the most reasonable of the 3 we got. He was quick to respond to questions we had and accommodating regarding timing. Once work commenced, his dedicated crew of 3 was pleasant and professional and completed the job in 5 days as was predicted. John came almost every day to monitor the progress and help as well. They cleaned up along the way, including hauling away the remains of the deck, and by the time they were done, our property was immaculate. A few days after the job (and a fair amount of rain), John returned to inspect the roof to make sure all was right and tight. He also recommended someone to build a replacement deck who was also very pleasant and professional with great ideas and solid skills. I would highly recommend J Stewart Roofing to anyone who values dedication to superior workmanship.

Mine is not a leaky-roof story, but it could easily have turned into one. This Spring, my neighbour suggested we replace the shingles on our shared, circa 2000 garage roof. No leaks or missing shingles from what we could see at ground level, but still...

My neighbour called several roofing companies. Only one came out to take a look. The estimator provided a verbal estimate. I wanted a detailed, written estimate - and a better idea of the state of the roof. A friend recommended a local company that had worked on two of his homes and his parents home. So I called J. Stewart Roofing. John came by, climbed up on the roof and took photos. I was surprised to see warped and missing shingles on the back alley side of the garage. And those lumpy bits? They were not raccoon droppings as I'd thought!

The three-man crew arrived on time and worked efficiently and steadily, despite the 30+ degree heat. They finished the job an hour before a sudden downpour. No leaks and the crew left my garage entrance and floor cleaner than how they'd found it. I was even happier that my garden had suffered no damage.

John checked the work afterwards and sent me pics of my beautiful new roof. He is the ideal contractor: knowledgeable, thorough, easy to reach and a good communicator. He and his crew offer superb customer service. If only other roofing companies were as professional!

We contacted J Stewart Roofing from a neighbour referral for an urgent repair. The team came quickly and fixed The issue which got us through the winter. We then had them come back to do the entire roof including vents, skylight and some gutter work.
They were extremely responsive throughout the process and worked hard every day they were here (despite some inclement weather). The grounds were spotless every night and the team did an exceptional job. We have had countless compliments on the work done. We would Highly recommend.

The supervisor John provided photos of the roofs condition when he gave the estimate. He answered emails promptly and oversaw the work daily. The 3 workers were careful about flower beds and did a thorough job cleaning up each day. Work was completed in 2 days.

J Stewart replaced our roof 20 years ago. We had a leak in a door transom to roof connection recently. John came several times to find the leak and then fixed it. Even though the company doesnt do slate he repaired some of our old slate roof tiles too. He is honest, responsive, looks after his customers for years and has a great crew.
