Repair for an antique sattee

I want to thank the previous negative reviews regarding this company. However, I decided to give the company a chance and provided them with photos of an antique sattee as they requested. A price was agreed upon and a tentative date set for pick up. They had my address and phone number and I heard nothing so I decided to call them. After numerous attempts I spoke to someone who said he was the owner. He said he would pick it up and we had lots of time before my dinner. He said it would be returned within a week and a half and I did not hear back from him. So I decided to call him again after my celebration/dinner and he told me he was far to busy to even call me back. He also told me I would not be happy with his work and terminated the call. I'm grateful that he was honest enough to tell me that his work would not be satisfactory. My experience was disappointing and this company is very unprofessional.

Couldn't be happier!

Absolutely fantastic! Re-Wrap stripped two aging armchairs down to the wood and rebuilt them from the bottom up. (Two previous upholsterers had said they'd stripped out the old horsehair from one of the chairs, but evidence proved they never did.) Gary patiently guided us through choosing fabrics from their vast selection, and in the end we went with two complementary patterns we would never have chosen on our own but are awesome together. Also appreciated the "fittings" -- being called in to sit in the chairs midway to ensure cushioning and padding were to our liking. Result? Beautiful "custom-fit" chairs. Excellent, friendly service, and excellent prices.

Re-cover sofa, chair, ottman

Re-Wrap is a great shop.
This is the fourth time we have had them re-cover our sofa, chair and ottoman. They have great ideas and opinions and they do very high quality work.
The second time we had our furniture re-covered was because the fabric from the first covering deteriorated within a week - Re-Wrap did the right thing and recovered all pieces no-cost!!
This is a great shop - high quality, good value.

Reupholstery of 2 bucket chairs

Having a tiny semi I was looking for appropriately sized furniture but struggled to find pieces that I both liked and had functionality. I I originally purchased these two bucket chairs from Habitat for Humanity Restore for $15/pair. I asked around to different people about upholsters but wasn't pleased with their pricing.I brought them to Re-Wrap where Gary showed us many options.

The results are absolutely astounding! We are THRILLED with them and have had many compliments. I would recommend this upholsterer to anyone looking for quality, timely and friendly results.

I've attached below before and after photos. The pink is before and the charcoal is after.

Upholstery of Chairs

The Re-Wrap team upholstered 3 side chairs (seats only) and 2 armchairs. In addition they made 5 toss pillows using the two different fabrics for the 5 chairs. I supplied all fabric.

The quality of Re-Wrap's work and their attention to detail is beyond anything I've experience over the years, I'm 70 and I've had lots of furniture upholstered over 40+ years.

You can trust your furniture to Re-Wrap, you will not be disappointed.
Thanks Re-Wrap.

custom sofa and chair reupholstered

We had our chair and sofa reupholstered by Re-Wrap, extremely happy with the results. Gary and Robert were both very helpful in deciding what fabric to choose and the end result was fabulous.
After a few months we had an issue with the frame on the sofa. Robert picked the sofa up and delivered it back to us within a few days. We understood that the structure was not their responsibility and were prepared to pay$$$. The charge was ZERO...can not say how happy we were. Would highly recommend re-wrap to anyone looking at having any reupholstering done.

Re-upholstery, refinishing - sentimental furniture pieces

Reading the prior post was quite surprising and quite honestly impossible to fathom (also, very inconsistent with all other posts)….we have just completed (delivered yesterday) a very large project (10 pieces) with Re-Wrap…short answer….THEY WERE AWESOME TO WORK WITH ! project took nearly 3 months from start to finish…did we have an issue with the project timeline ??? ABSOLUTELY NOT !!! It’s custom made furniture ! Our last furniture purchase from a top end Furniture store took nearly 6 months to arrive ! Back to Re-Wrap and Gary and Robert….From the initial design consultation, picking up the furniture, fabric selection process, budget discussions, numerous visits to the shop to guide and provide design inputs to delivery, they are a great team to work with. Their passion for their craft is unmatched…No part of the design (fabric choices, wood restoration, fabric piping, cushion types….) was not addressed and carefully planned….The end result with our furniture was nothing less than spectacular. The furniture is truly “one of a kind” and timeliness….we will have these pieces forever. For those of you considering a re-upholsterer….If you’re looking for very decent, honest, passionate, creative, “fun to work with” people, and want top quality results, PLEASE CALL Re-Wrap !

reupholstery

I gave re-wrap a grade of zero because I couldn't give them less. Robert picked up 3 chairs to re-upholster on Feb 7. I went to the shop to pick fabrics for each of the chairs and armchair. I picked the ones that he recommended as the best choice. The total worked up to a total of around $2800 ( 7yards of fabric for the large blue armchair ). He said it would take 4 weeks for the 7 yards to come in but the other 2 chairs would be done and delivered in under 2 weeks. Feb 11 he wanted a deposit of $2500 (89% of total cost!!). I agreed to give $1000 deposit as I thought that is fair as it covers the cost of fabric he possibly has to pay upfront (not sure if that is the case but gave him the benefit of the doubt). Next time I heard from him was 9 weeks later in mid April : the swatch of the blue fabric "came in" and he wanted to make sure it matched the original sample.. I went to the shop April 22. He produced a little swatch of fabric telling me that it was the fabric ordered and compared it to the original sample and declared that we have to change. The little swatch of fabric was much darker, different density and looked and felt like a different material. He brought 2 other sample books with the appropriate color: the samples were a cotton and a mohair sample. Before I had a chance to choose, he disappeared to price the mohair sample and Gary, his partner, told me that it is a lot more expensive, that it is about $300/yard. I said I will not pay more for this chair (already $900 labor and $800 fabric). I had in mind that I will opt for the cotton sample.
Gary disappeared and next thing I know the show started: Robert comes back .. hangs the sample up and declares "I'm done with you" proceeds with insults to my face in a full blown adult tantrum. Pacing up and down "that's it .. I am not doing the blue chair" .. "I want you out of here" ... "I won't do this"... "you are cheap"... It would have been just comical if I hadn't been in the middle of it. Gary, the partner, started running around him supposedly calming him with "that's enough and tells me "you don't know what you've done ... he's the best ... you just said the wrong things " I felt in the middle of a bad SNL skit! I don't think either one realized how irrational and ridiculous they looked . In an effort to cool the situation I said "I am sorry if I said something wrong" but he was not paying any attention to me. Gary literaly escorted me to the door as Robert was "too upset to calm down".
I thought there was a chance they were kidding as the alternative was ludicrous behavior that had nothing to do with anything that had actually happened.
The next day I called and simply asked to arrange for the 3 chairs to be delivered back. He said he "is working on it now" and "I should wait; someone will call me" I said I can be home after 4pm today or tomorrow. (Apr 23,24) (their website states that they do pick up and delivery!)
No one called and calling back at 3pm I was told " the delivery company is not going to drop everything to call me, so they will call when they are ready"
Apr 23 Robert sent an e-mail with an invoice attached stating that he issued a credit of $5oo on my credit card.He mentions some stain on one of the chairs he had redone (the one that was supposed to be done in 2 weeks!). He says I will be contacted in 1-2 days about delivery. No one called after 2 days. I sent an e-mail to Robert saying that if I do not receive my chairs by end of day April 28, I will seek other remedies. The next morning we had our chairs delivered by a nice man who said he had been asked to do this delivery 2 hours before coming to our house!
It is quite clear they had no blue fabric after 9 weeks of waiting, and their little show was transparent. I am still not sure what the explanation is: they never ordered the fabric?, the fabric never came in? they have a cash flow problem to ask for 89% down payment?
They deserve a rating of zero just based on One of the 2 chairs that were supposed to be done in 2 weeks and has a stain in the middle of the seat area! They couldn't pay enough attention to pick a clean piece? I paid full price for THAT!! ($500)
I looked up YELP reviews and found 2 describing an almost identical interaction with past clients.
This is a story I will be telling at parties for some time!

Sofa, Custom Chair, Ottomans

It's been 8-10 years since Re-Wrap completed several projects for us, but I just want to say that the items still look great and are still nice and plush after so long. Robert and Garry spent a lot of time with us to pick out fabric, visit our home, design pieces, and to arrange woodwork and wood retouching. If you want to support skilled traditional craftspeople and own unique personalized furniture this is a place you can go to. Now that we have adopted a cat, perhaps we will be needing their services again soon.

Custom Sofa Upholstery

Ours is a Victorian sofa that had last been done in the '50s. ReWrap totally understood what we needed and delivered a beautifully reupholstered antique on budget and on time. Our 1892 house is a nightmare of a narrow hallway and sharp curves and the guys did a fantastic job of negotiating the hall and tight door jams with nary a scratch. Ten out of ten!
