Service Technician

This is the worst experience I have ever had in my entire life. I called Appliance Canada regarding my extended warranty on my Whirlpool washer, and this is what I get. I called on December 16th and a technician came to the house on Thursday December 19th to look at my washer and informed us that we needed a new pump. He told us that if the part was in he would be back on Monday, December 23rd. We called Whirlpool and were informed that the pump was in on Friday December 20th and we should get a call for the technician to come and fix our washer by Monday December 23rd. On Monday, we had not heard from anyone so we called to find out what was going on. They then told us that they were waiting for a second part, which we were not informed about (a gasket) and told us that they would be coming on Friday because of the Holidays. The technician showed up today at approximately 3:50 and after 20 minutes, he "fixed" our machine. It seemed like he was in a rush because he had a women waiting in his car with a dog. It seemed very unprofessional. When he left, we put one load into the machine and it was not working. Within five minutes we called back and informed them of the situation, and they told us that the technician could not come back. Obviously, he had other plans and did not do his job. When I spoke to the Supervisor, the technician had told her that we do not use the proper detergent, which is not true. I could not believe that I had to prove to these people that I know what detergent to use for my HE washer. Now, I was told that the same technician will come back on Monday morning to fix my washer and if we wanted another technician, we would have to request it and it would take longer. What would you do??????

Home Builder Apliances

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Don't be fooled by the large scale marketing, it's just a front. Dealt with Mel who made us wait an hour and a half for an appointment. Another salesman gave us prices with no manufacturer rebate which after was later put in to the pricing, the manager didn't care about the problem rudely answering his phone during our complaint. after the other salesman stalled us for an hour and a half going back and forth to his computer for pricing Mel finally saw us and stated he would fix everything. We sat down and he gave us a price we agreed on then later added $100 while writing the invoice and stated he would have told us after it was written, we decided to walk out going to Corbeil to buy all of our appliances. If you want to compare ask the salesman you speak with at Appliance Canada to explain the features of the products their selling, all i heard was its the best, its good, then go to Corbeil and compare.

New Home

I just bought a new home and I needed to go and get appliances. I couldn't believe the variety of appliances and price point. The salesman ( there where many that came and went) worked well with my budget. They even price match. Very satisfied.

New Appliances

We purchased a new home and was given a voucher from the builder which covered a very basic stove, fridge, dishwasher, washer & dryer. We decided to upgrade some of our appliances ($1,000 price is after deducting the value of the voucher).

When contacting our assigned sales person for a quote, he did not reply to our email for days. After many phone calls, we were finally able to schedule an appointment at the showroom. You know something is wrong when a business does not list its prices in their showroom. If we liked something, the sales person would have to run to the back to "check on the price" for us. Hmmmm...

We couldn't decide that day and ended up calling another sales person later that week. We asked for quotes on other models and accidentally asked about some appliances the first sales person had already quoted as on. To our surprise, the second sales person gave us quotes that were significantly lower than what we were quoted earlier - on the same models!

I was peeved. Obviously the first sales person was trying to jack up his sales. We would have brought our business elsewhere if we were not stuck with our builder voucher.

I do not recommend this company because they are dishonest. But if you are to use them, make sure to do your research and ask for quotes from different sales people.

4 new appliances

There's room for improvements: the sales-rep was very good and came up with satisfactory pricing. Delivery service was a bit ''iffy'' - the guys did not handle the equipment with as much care as I would have liked, their dolly was basic steel (as you would use in a warehouse) with no padding.
I installed all myself except the Panasonic microwave; the latter is a poor design with the cable and plug installed forward, which makes it pinch when you try to slide into place. I'm dealing with Panasonic on that one.
The installers from "Appliance evolution'', which were finally sent by Appliance Canada, were great and the job was quickly done. But to get there, took about five calls to Appliance Canada, tons of voice-mail frustrations (suggest hit ''O'' right away and re-dial if you get the machine) and several calls to sort this all out.
In the end, we are satisfied, but feel it should have taken much less effort.
One other caveat, the Kitchen Aid dishwasher comes without a vital part - even says so, once you read the instructions; I suggest that the sellers (Appliance Canada and others) either tell the customer up front, or pressure the manufacturer to include this part. Without the part, you cannot install; to get it, you drive half across town for a $ 4.00 part.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Better phone system
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
ask more questions, especially if you self-install, which in not too difficult

Kitchen Aid fridge, range & dishwasher.

Bought Kitchenaid appliances in March was suppose to have them delivered June 1st.
Truck broken down on the day the appliances were suppose to be delivered. Got the appliances delivered the next day (apparently they don't make deliveries on Sunday but made an exception) Fridge and dishwasher were dented. Driver asked us if we still want to keep it. Of course my answer is "NO" paid for non-dented appliances, therefore I expect brand new, non-damage goods. Was not advised when replacements will be sent. Called Customer Service several times. All I got was a 'leave msg to the general mail box' Getting a hold of someone over there is like pulling teeth! FINALLY got a call from the saleman that took our order 2-days later and advised me that a manager will call me to discuss the situation. Manager that call was a JOKE! Offered me a gift basket for all my troubles. Are you kidding me?!?! Your company inconveniece my family by your delays and offer me a gift basket!?!? How about a deal on my next purchase?!?!?!
All and all, don't bother dealing with this company. They may be able to give you a get you a great quote, but their customer service STINKS. Either re-train your staff or hire new ones. The "1-star rating is for your salesman. He did great job at beating the competitors' price. BEWARE!

Defective Viking D3 Dishwasher

Bought a set of appliances back in October 2012 for delivery January 2013. Since day one, our Viking D3 dishwasher has had a leak. After calling Service, and being told to call the installer, only to have the installer come and tell me it is a Service issue, and once again calling Service, we had the first service rep come and tell me it was a leak that could be fixed with silicon, but they don’t carry silver silicon and it would look ugly if they used white silicon. So he told us he would order silver silicon and come back and fix the bad welding job in the seam. Clearly a defective unit sold to us from Appliance Canada. A few days later, a different service rep shows up, without silicon, and looks at it again. Tells us the leak can’t be fixed because it is in a spot the caulking tip wouldn’t reach. He advised us as this is a manufacturers defect, we would need to get a replacement. The service rep called and arranged to start the replacement process. He even took a video showing where the unit is leaking to email to Appliance Canada along with the above explanation. That was in March 2013. As of today, we have been told the dishwasher would be in stock in June, then told it would be in stock June 11th, then told it won’t be in stock until June 25th. Nobody can give us a straight answer. We went in person on June 8th and spoke to Marco, who apparently is a manager. Told us he would have the dishwasher in stock Tuesday June 11th and would call us Monday to confirm details. Called Marco on Monday at around 12:30 pm EST, said he’d call back in an hour. I called Marco again at 4:30 pm EST and left a message. Called again June 11th to be told he is not in the office, and was forwarded to someone named Daniel. Left 2 messages, no response. Called again at around 3:30 pm spoke to no less than 4 different people and again got nowhere. As soon as I finish writing this, I am removing the dishwasher unit from my kitchen, and putting it in my truck to return tomorrow. I expect a full refund, not only for the dishwasher but for the delivery and installation charges. I will never, ever deal with Appliance Canada again, and I hope anyone who reads this will think twice before buying anything from your Company. Fellow readers, check the Better Business Bureau website, where I have filed a complaint. The have already had 4 complaints in the last 12 months for service related issues. I hope this note can save someone the same lengthy hassle my family has been through.

service

I had heard from my relatives and friends that they have received great service from your stores, which is one of the main reasons I shopped at your store at 1380 Castlefield Road. But to my surprise, on the date of April 27th 2013, I was at the receiving end of some very poor service.

On the said date, I waited with excitement to have my new fridge and stove delivered to my home. We had made arrangements and paid for our old appliances to be removed. My husband had also provided the measurements of our front door to the customer service delivery department. They had confirmed that there would be no problems to deliver of our new appliances.

On Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. your delivery truck pulls up at our door and brings in the stove and takes out the old one. Then they proceed to tell us that they can’t bring in the fridge as it would need to have the fridge doors removed. I asked them to proceed and they said that they did not know how to remove the fridge doors. They said they would leave it in the garage and someone else would need to come at a later date next week to bring it into the house. I was horrified, shocked and surprised. They called the office to report what they were doing. They had me talk to lady at your customer service who talked to me rudely. She insisted that I had to pay $150.00 extra to have someone else come to my house at a later date to remove the fridge doors. This was infuriating. I spoke to my salesman Brian Van Giezen who said that these things happen he would pull some strings to try and get someone to come the same day.

Then finally two guy pull up in a red van to my house around 2:00pm.. The guys approached me without any identification in my front garden to say they are the fridge guys. I tell them the new fridge is in the garage and the old one needs to be removed first. They say that they don’t have instructions to remove the old fridge and first the need to be paid upfront the $150.00. I tell them that I am discussing this charge with the office. They will not do anything until they are paid. I get angry and they call their boss Shane. They both stand around for about an hour until their boss comes on-site. Shane arrives and asks me for the money and says that they don’t know anything about taking the old fridge. They only have a van. I call Brian the sales man and he calls the customer service manager. Customer Service manager speaks Shan and then speaks to me. I tell him all the craziness that has gone on for this delivery and that I would be sending a complaint letter to the General Manager of the company. That is when they agreed to remove the old fridge and left it on my drive way curb instead of taking it away. They brought in the new fridge and reinstalled the doors. Around 4:00pm. Saturday evening is when I finally have everything in place.

I am appalled at such behavior of the whole situation. It should not take an entire day of frustrating a customer to have their new expensive appliances delivered with additional charges for something that is not the customer’s fault. I request that I be re-imbursed by the $150.00 of the fridge doors removal and the $40.00 paid to remove my old appliances. This is the least that I should get for all the frustration and poor service, I always bought my appliances in the past with Sears and have never received this kind of run around and poor service. I have a good mind to take my business elsewhere in future and inform all my relatives and friends of this poor service.

Appliance Canada Extended Warranty

In 2008 we have bought Frigidaire fridge, stove and dishwasher from Appliance Canada with extended warranty because Frigidaire appliances did not have a good reviews and we wanted some protection. On 1st of January 2013 the stove has broken down and we had asked to be repaired under extended warranty. Now being 20th of February 2013 and the stove is still not repaired. We had no idea that it would take such a long time to have the appliance repaired under Appliance Canada Extended Warranty
