Whirlpool Washer Front load

Had the washer for 20 months, five service calls for bad water sensor, broken rubber ring and loud noises. Today I was told that it was a bearing and drum gone bad and that this was not warranted. I was also told by Whirlpool Canada that there was nothing they could do. When I phoned a service tech he told me that there was a recall on that model for the same issue. Why did whirlpool not tell me there was a recall -turns out recall is parts only no labour. Not putting another dime into that piece of junk, I have gone out a replaced it and will be taking it to the dump after I take it off my front lawn and take Whirlpool makes junk --20 months old--sign off of it. I will never ever buy Whirlpool again. Their quality is beyond belief, when the service tech laughs and says--i wouldn't buy one. The company should be ashamed of themselves.

Washer - hot water enters on a cold cycle and vice versa

The building where I purchased 2.5 years ago has all Whirpool appliances. Recently, in September 2011, there has been an issue identified with the washer where hot water enters when the cold cycle is selected and vice versa. So I called the company to schedule an appointment, which cost me 100 dollars! When I spoke with the customer service manager he refused to budge on the price even though most machines in my building are defective and the issue was identified in June 2008 on a service pointer sheet!!! So Whirlpool was selling defective machines; and because I didn't contact them within their measly 1 year warranty I gotta pay.

On an unrelated incident, 2 years ago I had scheduled an appointment with them to take a look at my stove/oven, the guy never showed up (and I took time off work to wait for the technician) nor did I get a call from the subcontractor technician or Whirlpool!

When I mentioned this incident to the customer service manager, the response I got was: "we can't control other people's actions, maam".
I guess following up with the customer makes too much sense.
I then asked if I can have the phone number of the business that they will use as a subcontractor to take a look at my washer. No can do.

All in all, this is the last time I will ever buy Whirlpool. What a joke.

Dishwasher Quiet Partner 3

We currently have all whirlpool appliances in our home and have found there customer service once the warranty expires is garbage. Our whirlpool gold dishwasher has had 3 service call in the last 3 years. First for leaking and last fall for complete control panel failure. After paying 90 bucks for 2 service calls and 250 for a new control panel the new part has again failed just like the first less then 4 months after the fact. But since whirlpool does not stand by there product and I have refused to pay another 250 for yet another new control panel our beautiful whirpool gold dishwasher is now trash on our curb. Buyer beware, save your money and put it towards appliances that are actually worth the money!

Whirlpool Canada customer service

I am writing today because HomeStars says they allow responses from the companies and I am hoping that someone at Whirlpool corporate head office in Canada will respond.

I live in Toronto. My Whirlpool oven stopped working and I made an appointment for service. I waited 4 hours. No one showed up. I phoned Whirlpool. It turns out that the dispatcher had incorrectly entered my phone number, so when the serviceman phoned, he got another household who said they'd never heard of Whirlpool. Such is life.

I had another appointment for this morning. I received a call from Whirlpool partway through the morning saying that that the serviceperson had called in sick and wasn't coming. Of course, I don't expect anyone to work when they're sick but I have now taken off two shifts (unpaid) from work and not yet had any service. I asked, in view of this, if they could give me a specific time for the next appointment, given that they are the ones who cancelled and as I don't get paid when I don't work and can't take a third shift off. They say no.

I ask if we could pick a day that hasn't been booked yet, in order for me to be slotted in as the first appointment of the morning. They say no. I ask why not. They say that's "not how it works". I ask if they could show any flexibility in this instance, given that they cancelled both of my appointments, inconveniencing their customer twice. They say no.

I ask them how this response fits in with their corporate culture, the one that promotes "thinking in new ways", "fostering open communication", "performing to our greatest potential". Silence.

I ask about the Whirlpool mission: "We will become a company of people captivated with creating loyal customers. From every job, across every imaginable contact, over the course of a lifetime, we will build unmatched customer loyalty. One customer at a time."

Another lengthy silence, then I'm told that all they can do is rebook the appointment (for a third time) and "if the serviceman is feeling better he will show up".

I ask if they will send another serviceman, in the case where the original serviceman has to cancel again. I don't want to risk taking a third shift off work, and having another cancelled appointment. They say no. That's not how it works.

I ask if I may speak to a supervisor. At first I'm told no, that no one else is there. I persist. I'm then transferred to a call centre in the United States. I explain it all again, ask if there's any way I can can have a guaranteed appointment. I'm told that's not how "it works".

I ask for an email address for the President of Whirlpool Canada. I'm interesting in hearing how he thinks it's supposed to "work". He, after all, must have approved the values and mission statement. The are unable to give me that information.

I search the internet for contact details for him or anyone else in corporate head office, Canada. I want to "foster open communication" on this matter but I cannot find any email addresses.

I find a phone number for the the head office in Mississauga. I call but it is an automated answering machine. I try spelling out the names of every executive who's name I have found listed online, but none of them are in that directory. The directory eventually disconnects my call.

I revisit the Whirlpool "values" page: "How we operate everyday is through our values-based strategy that represents who we are to our customers, our investors and to each other. And the way they represent the company demonstrates how we do business: the right way."

Does anyone out there have an email for someone in corporate head office? They should know about the disconnect between their "values" and "culture", and their customers.

I'm not so upset that they didn't show up for two appointments, that I lost the income for two work shifts and still haven't had my oven serviced. What's most frustrating is the robotic responses from customer service, the complete inflexibility shown despite the fact that they were responsible for both missed appointments, the utter disconnect between the company's professed corporate values and how they actually respond to customers on the day-to-day level.

I wish corporate head office would have the courage and willingness hear directly from their own customers. We can call customer service for repair issues and complaints, but where is one to go when the complaint is actually about customer service? I wish head office would adopt themselves the values they publish in their annual report and on their website.

High end Dishwasher...bursted twice over 2 years.

This dishwasher blew twice and destroyed our floors. Both bought at Sears. They and Sears avoided us for about 2 years and we finally had to get our own insurance company involved . They tried to pay us off with an offer that was less than a fifth the cost. Don't sign these offers with gag orders, stating you can not talk about this..some people will see the cash in front of them and take it. Don't!
We have bought Sears Kenmore, (which we found out is Whirlpool in all this) for many years. Both companies have taken a dive in their customer service and reputation in the last 4 or 5 years. Sears is closing stores all over the place now. I can understand why. In my opinion they do not offer any trust factor that will draw me in their store again.

repaired door on dryer

We were having issues with our dryer door because it was not closing properly.

We contacted the Whirlpool technician who promptly arrived within a couple of days. He was extremely helpful and explained the problem to my wife. He quickly fixed the door and asked my wife if she had any other concerns with the Whirlpool products. Great company with repair technicians that stand behind the product.

Dehumidifier purchase & servicing

Purchased a dehumidifier from Whirlpool. Wasn't sure what to choose, but this one came with a warranty and was priced right for the size. Had an issue with the float that stops it from running once it's full but they sent out a repairman with a couple days. Had a few hassles with the customer service agent who took my call, but in the end she made sure I got what I needed and made sure I was happy.

Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Automatic Washer

Purchased new in October of 2008. This is the second time we've had the supplier out for maintenance only to be told that it would cost at least $800 in parts alone. So we call Whirlpool direct only to be told by a "supervisor" that this is something we should expect! Let's think about that statement for a moment.......hmm. Obviously quality and customer satisfaction are not part of Whirlpools ideals (at least not in this country). We live in a brand new home that we allow the builder to use as a model, so it is safe to say that we will not buy Whirlpool again, nor will we be recommending their product to the countless new prospective home owners who pass through here. Absolutely totally disgusted in their product, their attitude, and their lack of professionalism.

Dishwasher GU3200XTPS3 electronic panel replacement

Replaced the electronic panel twice within 2 years. The 2nd time Whirlpool's service provider in Victoria BC that is Derek Appliances also replaced the heating element that took more than a week. In 3 days the dishwasher stopped working again because Derek's technician didn't connect the wires right. Had to wait another 4 days for him to fix his own mess.

In a month the dishwasher broke again. I contacted Whirlpool and they referred to Derek's Appliance Services again. I contacted them and dispatch told me that it was their practice to use refurbished electronic panels for repairs and they were out of them so they would be able to repair the dishwasher only in TWO WEEKS! After that I called Whirlpool again. The first rep connected me to Derek's without even warning instead of talking to me. After I called again, the 2nd rap kept me on hold more than for half an hour probably hoping I would hang up. When she realized I wouldn't she started saying nonsense about doing "intensive and massive research" and about "calling me back directly". I know that nobody will call me directly and Whirlpool is probably very well aware of their service people using old broken electronic panels in their repairs although they say they don't.

I payed $360 a month ago. Out of that month I was washing dishes by hand for at least 10 days while waiting for the service. Now I have to wait for another 2 weeks. It looks like Whirlpool and their services are more like a bunch of con artists. Never buy their appliances so you wouldn't have to deal with their service.
