The experience from start to finish was professional. The quote was done and reviewed with Paula, the price was provided the same day and the expectation of when the work could be completed was also established. The various crews were professional, cleaned up after each portion, the next steps communicated and the workmanship was top notch. I interacted with 8 - 10 of the guys in various stages and each were pleasant and professional. I would recommend Solocrete for any concrete work as they did the job as if it were their own home

After being referred to John at Solocrete, we could not be any happier with the work him and his crew have done at our home. This was a complete project from ripping out old concrete to replacing with coloured exposed aggregate with a trim. The project was from the end of the driveway, all the way to the end of our backyard. The work is simply impeccable and the price is very competitive relative to other companies out there. One thing I feel that is necessary to add is the determination John and his crew showed in finishing the job. Given these difficult times, it is almost inevitable for unforeseen circumstances to take place, and after learning about John's current situation, I could not be more impressed with what he has been able to do not only for us but for others as well.

All in all, I highly recommend Solocrete as we could not be any happier with our work and will definitely be referring them to friends and family.

We hired John at Solocrete to install just over 1100 square feet of stamped concrete around the house and around our swimming pool. The first installation last year in September went well however this year when John returned to complete the rest of the work it was the worst experience we've encountered. John made empty promises of when he would show up and scheduled the installation countless times, didn't show up and didn't both to call or text us that he wasn't coming, we constantly had to follow up with him just to see if his crew was coming which was an inconvenience to us. Regardless of this we were still patient and accommodated them every time they tried to schedule us. The majority of the time they actually showed up at random with no notice at all and we accommodated them. We treated the crew very well, we bought them coffee, espresso, offered food and even put out a cooler with ice with drinks for them to make sure they were comfortable. When they finally got to installing the concrete they came with a huge cement truck with a full load on a 30 degree day and parked the truck right on our asphalt driveway causing damage. They didn't even both to use plywood or steel plates. They damaged our driveway causing the ashpalt to sink in all over the place. We texted John about this and he completely ignored us and didn't respond. John also did some work as well at my neighbors house while they were doing mine and didn't park on my neighbors driveway, they parked on the street as they realized how much damage they caused to ours! They could have parked on the street for ours too since there's no cars on the street and a ton of room. They wanted to make things easy for themselves instead of being concerned with the damage that they would cause us. Then, once the concrete was done we noticed they used the wrong colour and it was completely different than what was supposed to be installed. It was supposed to be the same matching concrete colour but instead they put the wrong colour. One of the crew members who came to powerwash the concrete advised me that the crew who added the colour should have known immediately upon laying the powder colour down and stopped what they were doing.. I spoke with John after this happened who advised he was going to sand down the concrete and try to re add the colour which we were fine with as long as there were no issues. A couple days later we received a call from John who advised he has to rip out the concrete and redo it. He took his time and constantly complained over the phone to us about the project in general as he was upset that his company lost money on the job. After weeks of waiting they finally came out and cut the concrete so its ready to remove. John was also supposed to bring a plastic cover or sheet for the pool before cutting and removing the concrete to ensure no dust went in the pool. What he brought was an old plastic sheet filled with mud and dirt that I refused to let him use as it would be dropping mud in our pool. I ended up bringing out an old TV cardboard box to block the back spray of the concrete from going into the pool when he was saw cutting. About a week later Johns crew returned to remove the concrete and left a significant amount of concrete dust all around the pool and walkways and didn't bother to clean it even though we have and in ground swimming pool that we use daily. They also used my neighbors driveway without his permission and left a mess on the road and on his driveway. John was supposed to return the following day to do the concrete so we didn't mention it to him. We sent a text message to John in the morning of the day they were supposed coming to pour the concrete requesting that once they complete the concrete if they could please clean up around the pool and my neighbors driveway. We immediately received a call from John after the text, he started swearing and advised he's not coming out to finish the job and that we complain about the mess too much.

We are now left with a damaged driveway, an unfinished project which we now have to pay someone to bring it back to it's original state, were left with a mess all over the concrete that we now have to clean up and we have to seal 1000 square feet of concrete that John was supposed to do. This is going to cost us in the thousands of dollars to just bring everything back to way it was before John and Solocrete took on the project. The photos we attached here show the original grass we had laid down, then the wrong colour concrete they installed and finally what they left us with. A hole in the ground with gravel. We called a few companies and they did not have the stamp to do our concrete to match so the only thing we can do now is replace it with the grass that was there before John started.

What a nightmare, This company should not be in business.

I normally don't get around to ever doing reviews but I am making an exception in this case. Solocrete may not have a huge marketing machine, but John is great ambassador for the company. He obviously knows how to work with concrete and he delivers. I waited for about a year before writing this review as I wanted to see how the driveway and walkways withstood the winter. They all continue to look amazing! I wasn't actually home the day they came to pour but several of my neighbours commented on the quality of the preparation and the professionalism of the crew. A year later the results speak for themselves and I continue to receive compliments from my neighbours. I was also very impressed with the level of customer service. Last year, John mentioned that I would likely need a reseal come the spring given how late in the year the concrete was poured. Sure enough early July I got a call from Solocrete and they appeared at my house and applied a fresh coat of sealer. This type of follow-thru is not often seen in the industry. All in all a 5 star job !

Very professional company. We did front yard, backyard and sides with exposed aggregate. Paula is great in understanding the requirements and they are flexible in working with your ideas and ensure we were satisfied. Very experienced team overall and the whole project was done within 2 weeks. Made few design changes before the final framing was done and they supported fully. Great quality work and finish. Excellent customer service. I will highly recommend them.

Have wanted to replace to lousy asphalt job done by our builders sub-contractor for years, finally made the move this year. I researched several companies in the area and got quotes from 4 contractors, all came in about between $8000 - $10000 for approximately 800 square feet. I decided after much discussion that we would go with Solo Crete as I had seen a number of places in our area that they had done and was impressed with the quality of work they had done.

I must say I was very impressed with the professionalism of the company from my first phone call. John came by when he said he would and assessed our property offered some tips and advice on how we should go about it and the time line it would take. All the crews that came to our home to do the work were very professional and got right to work doing their portion of the job. Work was done in a timely manner and they left the job site clean and advised us when the next crew would be in to do their portion.

The final pour was on the 3rd of September 2019 and now I am waiting for the weather to dry up a bit so that I might seal the concrete before winter. The driveway look incredible and we have had several compliments on it, even though it's just plain white concrete.

Can't say enough good things about them, you would be well advised to include them in any consultation if you are looking to go with a concrete driveway. Once again thank you John and the whole team at Solo Crete on a job well done.

Love the work and we have had concrete work previously so we know what to expect. They did a complete concrete wrap around our house. Looks great even after two years.

SoloCrete installed a 1200sq ft patio three years ago. Looks as good today as it did then. No cracks or breaks. This year we had two walkways and 1000sq ft of pool decking installed in same stamped concrete. Colour match was right on and now the pool area looks fabulous. Based on my experience I would highly recommend SoloCrete for this type of project.

We decided to replace our interlock stones due to the uneven surface and weeds growing between the cracks and to replace the asphalt driveway, front steps, front walk, side path and backyard deck in aggregate and patterned concrete. During my dog walks around the neighborhood I saw their work and I spoke with the residents who had used them and got positive feedback. When I called John (the owner of the business) he came and drove me to another location of a job he had just completed, this gave me the opportunity to speak to the owner and get his opinion on the work and the interaction with Solocrete. His comments were that the Solocrete crew are extremely skilled, hardworking, friendly and accommodating of all of our suggestions or questions. All the work was done in a meticulous manner, and was completed with care. The end result exceeded all of our expectations. John knows his trade, his passion to detail, he is a perfectionist, a man of his word, and not scared to get his hands dirty when needed. , I watched over them and they truly did not miss a thing. The site was always left clean. . The completed job is beautiful and has certainly added a great deal of value to our home. We have received so many fantastic compliments from family, neighbours and strangers passing by on the street.

I recently had concrete work done by Solcrete on my property from my front yard leading down to a pathway to the backyard. Approximately 350 sq ft. I must say that the staff was very professional and thorough with their work. John (Owner) was very respectful and provided positive feedback. They truly went out of their way. And just to make sure that they did what they promised, I watched over them and they truly did not miss a thing.

Furthermore, the day I was suppose to make my payment, I was told of a death in the family. I immediately had to leave the city to go out of town. When I called solocrete, they were very sympathetic and understanding. They allowed me to make the payment when I returned. That really helped.

I was also impressed by the amount of trucks and equipment they brought to the job site and the number of workers they had. All were very friendly. They also sweeped up and cleaned up after themselves.

I cannot speak for the negative reviews but I would definitely recommend them for concrete work. There aren't too many reliable concrete companies out there but Solocrete is definitely a good company. My neighbours are already asking me about this company and are planning to call them next summer for their concrete projects.
