Over the Xmas holidays, I decided to paint and put up cornice mouldings in my condominium. I have two friends that would help me put up the mouldings and paint.
I had a budget of $500 so off I went to Rona Hardware. I had received a flyer that had some excellent deals.
The store had a large variety of mouldings. I had to buy quite abit so I had to work to see if they would fit in my budget. The salesperson was very helpful in selecting the correct width of moulding and recommended the pre-primed mouldings as I will be painting them anyways. She also worked out the ending pieces I would need based on my drawings. She also recommended the glue and caulking that I would need.
I next had to buy the paint for the mouldings and the wall. I wanted a variety of colours for the different rooms. The store has many types of paints. The paint salesperson recommended a mid-grade latex flat and thought for contrast the mouldings and trim should be in white. I chose three colours which she mixed and the white paint. She also selected the correct roller kits and brushes. I also bought some plastic to cover my floors.
It worked out that the total was better than I expected as the paint was on sale that day. The cash was fast and efficient. It was also nice that the got one of the warehouse people to help me bring out my purchases to my car.
I complete installing the moulding and paint the walls with my friends. I would say the quality of the products was good for the price.
