Quin Teriors

I have been working with Kathy Quinn of Quin-teriors for approximately 5 months, since August of 2014. I contacted her to assist me with decor elements for my new house and I’m so glad that I did! We have started with the family room and dining room and my husband and I are extremely pleased with the results. These rooms are turning out beautifully and are exactly what we hoped for. Kathy has assisted us with selecting lighting fixtures, furniture, artwork, lamps, fabrics for pillows and chairs, and a paint colour for the re-finishing of a dining hutch. She has also helped to determine the ideal furniture placement for each room. Kathy does a great job in tailoring her recommendations to the style of the client rather than her own style. She understands our tastes very well and seems to know exactly what we are looking for in each room. As a result, her pre-selections and suggestions for furniture and accessories have been spot on. I am very impressed with her ability to know what we will like and make it happen! Kathy responds quickly to emails and phone calls, and is always thorough and detailed in answering questions. I have appreciated her honest feedback when I pass along my own ideas for furniture or accessories! Kathy also has great contacts in the trades. She coordinated re-finishing an old dining hutch and reupholstering an old chair on our behalf and both pieces turned out beautifully. The work was flawless. These previously outdated pieces have been transformed so they look contemporary and fresh, yet they have retained their character and charm. In addition, Kathy’s seamstress did an amazing job sewing custom pillows for us out of fabrics Kathy and I selected. I would definitely recommend Kathy to anyone look for assistance designing their perfect room or a full house. You will not be disappointed!

We contacted Kathy for assistance decorating our new home. She is a very good communicator and responded promptly to our request. Kathy came to our rescue with paint colours that suit us and our home. She was patient, funny and knowledgable and took time to get to know our tastes and shape our design decisions. She provided us with several options for lighting and directed us to Thomas to install our shades. We have been extremely pleased with the result. The paint colours are a delight to live with, Thomas and his brother made the shade installation a breeze and the lighting is stunning. We are so pleased with Kathy's advice that we plan on working with her again soon on other areas of our home.

We wanted to do a complete update in our house and wanted the services of an interior designer to guide us. Well we found the perfect one in Kathy. She helped with every room with design, paint and floor covering, etc. Our place is looking great already. We are going to be using her services again soon and look forward to it. I wanted to "update" my home and paint the first two levels of it. I had an idea of what I wanted. Kathy guided me through the entire process step by step. We selected everything together and it was a delight to work with her and all of the trades people she had do the work for me. Before she come on the project I had a problem that could have seriously put a stop to everything, but Kathy swooped in and solved it. I am so happy with everything we did. We had some rain damage to the basement so decided to replace the carpet and repaint the walls. We asked Kathy's advice on the choice of carpet and colours for the walls. The choices Kathy made for us were exactly what we wanted. We were very pleased. Kathy also gave us some suggestions for a couple of other rooms that we are going to update in the future. While considering a refreshment of my basement, a friend mentioned her success with Kathy of Quin-teriors with her kitchen. From my first phone call, I knew that Kathy had the enthusiasm and professionalism to deal with this task. Our first appointment was a walk around the basement explaining what my family was hoping to do with an eye to keeping the costs within reason. Kathy showed up on time and with a sympathetic ear. There was no up-sell, no push to dig the basement down, no pressure - it was very refreshing. She put me in touch with her contractor who was terrific and came daily until the job was finished. She also set me up with her carpet installer who was also very professional.

As well, Kathy took me to a trade only flooring company, and worked with me and my husband to find the right carpeting, tile, and colour of grout. As an example of Kathy's commitment to the project, she would email me regularly to find out how things were going, and kept in touch with her trades on their progress. When it was time to tile the bathroom, I noticed that the accent tiles were incorrect. I emailed her and this problem was corrected immediately with the flooring people coming to my house with the correct tiles and picking up the wrong ones. Talk about service!

Kathy has a terrific eye for colours. After we had chosen the tiles and carpet, she whipped out her paint chips from her trusty "holster"; then she and my husband agreed on the paint required within a couple of minutes after she selected the palate from which we should be working.

We are very pleased with the new look of our basement. Quin-teriors is a place where I will refer my friends.

We hired Kathy Quinn of Quin-teriors for a third project to help us with a basement renovation in our primary home. We wanted to create a tv/sitting area, separate kids play room and relocate our existing laundry room from the main floor to the basement. Kathy helped us create a floor plan, design concept, choose paint colours, carpet, cupboards, counter tops and flooring. She designed and sourced furniture for a playroom fit for two princesses and they love it! As always, Kathy coordinated with suppliers and installers, and worked in coordination with our contractor. She also helped us source someone to make custom slip covers for our sectional sofa without having to have the sofa removed from our home. We love our new space and working with Kathy. I'm sure project #4 is around the corner.

Working with Quin-teriors was such a positive experience that I no longer have any hesitation in hiring professional design help. I’ve always considered myself to be pretty good at decorating but when I moved and had to put together a whole-home scheme, I found it completely overwhelming. I just didn’t know where to start and it was really hard to narrow down all the things I like so I could make the right choices. Kathy listened to my opinions and concerns and was able to filter everything I said so that the final result was beyond my expectations. Kathy has quite a ‘bag of tricks’ which is her pool of sources and suppliers as well as qualified trades. I was able to keep my focus on my job and my family while Kathy handled the project from beginning to end. Kathy’s fees were reasonable considering not only the time she saved me but also the fact that I didn’t have any regrets over any of the purchases (which I know I would have, if I had handled it myself).

Kathy is a wonderful communicator and has a very warm and engaging personality. I highly recommend Kathy of Quin-teriors for residential projects. She’s professional, reliable, and she gets the job done beautifully.

We loved working with Kathy as we brainstormed decorating and colours throughout our house.
