Pool Leak Detection

We hired this company as the person running it put our pool in 13 years ago and we thought that we could trust him.We were wrong. We found that we were adding water every day and figured out that we had a leak.We called Jason at Poolcraft and were told that they did leak detection.I was quoted $400.00 for this service and their price was comparable so we went with them. This started in September last year.About a week later they sent 2 guys out with sober leak detection. They couldn't find any leaks in the liner but said they found water going out at the return jets and we needed jet gaskets. I went and picked some up and replaced them.Still we had a leak. Then the same guys came about 2 weeks later and did a pressure test.Still couldn't find any leaks. Then they thought that maybe it was the main drain. They once again had to come back 2 weeks later and bring a wet suit .During this whole time they wanted me to keep the heater on so they could dive down to the main drain.By this point it was mid to late October. Not only did I have to keep it heated but I also had to add water every day. They came back 2 more times and they didn't have the proper equipment so he was using river rocks in his "dry suit" from my Bradenton weigh himself down.He supposedly plugged the main drain in mid November and I could finely close my pool.In the spring of this year I had my liner replaced and the company that did the replacement found that the main drain was not plugged after all as the guy had used a rubber stopper plug not the screw in type so it wasn't even in the main drain hole. This company may know how to install a pool but they sure have no idea how to detect a leak.Of course if this is the way they work in charging us $850.00 for services not rendered if your thinking of getting a pool installed by them I might think twice!!

Hi Les, thank you for taking the time to post a review although I was quite surprised by your comments. You hired us to detect a leak in your pool and below is a record of what transpired.

On September 22,2016 our leak detection crew discovered that your face plate on the deep end return was cracked. You indicated that you wanted to have all the face plates replaced and decided to take this task on yourself. After you replaced the face plates you contacted our office and said you thought you were still losing water.

On October 7th, 2016 our leak detection crew returned and discovered that the face plates you installed were loose and needed to be tightened. Our crew adjusted the face plates and was unable to detect any other issues with your pool at that time.

I would like to remind you that you were emailed on October 18th, 2016 to inform you that my office had temporarily lost 2 key administrators. Geoff had just lost the mother of his children in a tragic accident and he had become the sole caregiver for his two young children and Cassidy had just become a first time father. During this time, the office was short handed and we had people filling in for Geoff and Cassidy with less experience.

On February 21st, 2017 I sent you an email asking you to contact me regarding the invoice but I never heard back from you. If your pool was losing water over the winter as you are suggesting, you should have contacted us. We have a winter check program and a crew that inspects pools throughout the winter. If your pool was losing water over the winter, you would have experienced damage to your winter cover and I would have certainly expected to hear from you if this were the case. That being said, I am not convinced your pool lost water over the winter

I have also attempted to contact you this week by cell phone and email however you have neglected to respond.

In my opinion, I believe both sides could have done a better job communicating with each other and we certainly apologize for our part.

New in-ground pool and landscaping

We approached Pool Craft to build an in-ground pool late last year and we agreed to move forward with the project. The approach was the right one: design, build and service it. Rick managed the entire project from the beginning and provided help and guidance every step of the way. He was the go-to person to check the status and make adjustments as we required and needed.

Design: we started with a couple of design ideas that were customized to our needs. Julie was very open and provided an accurate final design that was what we were looking for: a great pool and surrounding landscaping.

Dig: The dig took only two days. It was a very fast process and they were clean and careful. Our backyard had huge trees so we had lots and lots of roots plus two extremely big stumps left in the ground. They managed to remove them and clean up so the site was left in perfect order for the pool crew to start building on.

Pool build: Jim and his crew were able to build the entire pool in three days. They did an amazing job. Very friendly, very clean and extremely knowledgeable. I asked many questions and they always had the right answers! They explained the process, they built it exactly and it was all ready for the next step... landscaping!

Landscaping: It was done very well, even if the weather didn't cooperate with them. We had to change on the fly some items (additional work requested and needed) and they were able to accommodate these changes without any problems. Kyle's team (Chad, Alex, Brian) were very professional and very knowledgeable. All the tasks were carefully carried out and the site was always clean and neat. Fences, interlocking, drainage, right sloping, great coping and laying out were just a couple of tasks they were able to deliver in order to create a perfect outdoor living space for us!

We selected a shed company based on Rick's recommendation and we are extremely happy with the choice! It was fully built in 1 day and looks amazing!

Pool equipment installation, gas and electrical connections were done very carefully. Pool Craft's team did an amazing job and were able to accommodate our space needs. We trusted Pool Craft to install the equipment on one side of the pool house so we can use the remaining for storage of pool toys and other stuff.

Next was Scott's liner installation and the fill-up with water. In a couple of hours the pool was ready to be used with Bobby's help and later that day we were able to swim and enjoy it for the first time!

Then the pool school. Chris took the time to teach us how to use the equipment, how to maintain the pool, how to benefit from its features, how to adjust what we need, and much more!

Pool Craft delivered 100% what they promised. No additional costs, no hassle, no delays. They really did an amazing job and my back yard is now an oasis that we enjoy every day. All of their staff are extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. Many, many thanks to Rick, Chris, Jim, Bobby - they all did their part so we can have this dream completed. Fully recommended! Look no further... you found the right people to build a pool! It will be my pleasure to answer any questions and provide references for them!

Thank you, Pool Craft! You did an amazing job! Now we have our own oasis in the backyard!

Took 3 years to fix liner installation

Pool was installed by Pool Craft in 2014 and it took SEVERAL follow up phone calls, emails and unproductive visits from their liner installer to finally smooth out some major wrinkles on our custom installed entry steps. We appreciate this was a challenging install, but were frustrated that it took three years to finally get the job done right and were left with the feeling that once we paid for the job, some of the people at Pool Craft didn't care to make us a priority to finish the work professionally. Also during the pool construction, we didn't appreciate having cigarette butts flicked into our pool or having to clean up our driveway and road in front of the house because the crew left dirt everywhere. On the positive side, the salesperson Rick was always prompt, professional and courteous. The company they subcontracted to do the hardscaping, deck and fence (Stonevalley) were amazing! The quality of craftsmanship is top notch and they cleaned up every day before leaving.

Hi Laura + Matt, thank you for providing Pool Craft with feedback.

Pool Craft has gone to great lengths to try and resolve this cosmetic issue and have provided constant feedback and updates to determine the best course of action and timing.

That being said, I would like to remind you of a few details that you did not include in your review.

The pool was installed in the late fall of 2014 and during the construction of the pool, we experienced a few days of inclement weather which made clean up at the end of that particular day very cumbersome. But you are correct, the first week of a pool installation is definitely the most invasive and creates more mess than the later stages (such as the landscaping as you have indicated).

With respect to the small wrinkle on the custom step, you also forgot to mention that you and your family have been able to enjoy the pool without any disruption despite the minor cosmetic wrinkle on your step.

Furthermore, Pool Craft has attempted to remove this wrinkle but again due to the design of the step, there were a few areas that were very stubborn and as a result took much longer than we anticipated. However, the liner has been adjusted and you have not been burdened with any loss of pool time or any expense.

As far as the salesmen and landscaper are concerned, I agree Rick Johnson and Stone Valley are excellent (and a big part of the Pool Craft team) and given your comments, I am not sure how a 1 out of 10 is a fair rating
