Windows and front doors

We have been referred to Olympia Windows and Doors by our friends who had their windows installed by this great company. Everything was so easy from getting an estimate (from Jan) having windows and our door measured and eventually installed (by Antelo). We have already referred Olympia to our neighbours who promptly got their estimate and made decision to hire this company too.
All was worth every penny.
Thank you
Isabelle

Replacement of all windows and doors in townhouse complex

Olympia did a fantastic job, considering they had to replace the windows and doors of 55 units, all within the short span of 2 months! There were no complaints (except for the odd broken china dish, which is really the tenant's fault) and their work really made our complex a much better-looking, and cost/energy effecient place to live! Would hire them again

Windows

We had new windows and patio doors installed by Olympia a few years ago and were thrilled with the job. A few months ago we noticed that the rubber seal between the double paned window in our back door had buckled. We called Emilio and even though we had to wait a few weeks for a replacement and had a bit of an oops! during installation, the window was replaced and looks brand new. Thanks Emilio for being a man of your word and looking after this for us under our warranty.

replace two windows (same size as old) & install one larger window

we used olympia to replace two old windows and cut a larger window opening for a third window. The straight window replacements were no problem, the third window that required cutting of a larger opening was a huge mess from start to finish. We were told by the salesperson (Lily) that there would be no visible damage to the the wall, essentially a complete job - have a look at the attached photos of the complete job. Not only was it a complete mess and not close to what the salesperson told us, it was contrary to the contract which stated "foam insullation between window and frame and high quality caulking". It was a joke. When the installer was "done" we had the owner back to see the job that had been done, he spent an hour of his own time improving the mess. We then had to spend a day repairing the wall (plastering, sanding and painting.
in addition, the contract stated instillation included "protecting floor in access and work areas" - we had a new (less than one year old) hardwood floor in the room, the put many dings and dents in it.
Bottom line, there are a lot of window places in the GTA, move along and dont use these guys.

Company Response

A repeat customer of ours brought to our attention yesterday that this review was posted; I apologize from not replying to it earlier.

We are still trying to understand why a job that was completed a year ago and ended on a handshake and a conversation with their saleslady that they were happy with the job and it was completed to their satisfaction and the bill was paid in full. In fact the saleslady called them back in the spring leaving a message to enquire if they were ready to do more work, has taken such bad turn.

The picture of the unfinished drywall was due to the installer that did the cutout running out of materials; I personally went to the job and completed the drywall, leaving it ready for sanding and painting, as painting was not part of the job.

Also not part of the job was to finish inside, as stated in the contract that the customer will purchase and install the inside casing and header, this was due to the shape of the existing moldings that had to be matched.

They forgot to mention that because they didn’t like the standard frosted glass. According to them it wasn’t the dictionary definition of frosted. We agreed to replace it at our cost for “sandblasted” glass, (the real frosted according again to the customers), and that would take care of everything, including the hardly visible marks in the floor that can’t be proven as how or when they happen as the floors were covered.

There are 2 lessons to be learned here, first of all, customers should always read the contract a bit closer, and for me, get a paper signed at the end of a job. My excuse is I have been in business for 27 years and always took a handshake as a sign of trust. I guess it is true, times are a changing, especially with the Internet when someone can slander a company or person from the comfort of their living room in a few minutes. It is a shame, really.

At Olympia we are proud of our reputation and finish each day knowing that we went over and above our "on paper" responsibilities. Like that famous TV personality, when something isn't right, we make it right for our customer. Reality is, however, that occasionally you can’t please a consumer no matter what you do.

window installation

We had new windows supplied and installed by Oplmpia Windows. Several years after they did original job, they were working at a neighbours. They happened to be by our house and noticed moisture in our living room window. The faulty window was replaced at their suggestion, and at no cost to us.
If I needed more winwows, the only dealer I would contact would be Olympia, and would reccomend them without any hesitation.
