My furnace installation by another HVAC company was tagged by the gas distributer- 45 days to repair or they shut off our gas supply for having the vents in an apparent illegal location on the side of my foundation. Brian and Gary then came to the rescue- they met the deadline, fixed all the issues and even stayed until 11:30 at night to make sure everything was to their standards. They went way beyond my expectations and it was obvious that they were not about to take any shortcuts- unlike my original contractor did. Thanks guys. I wish I could give you a higher rating than just 10 out of 10.

Brian,Gary and crew are just phenomenal. Their craftsmanship is just like a Rembrant painting. Literally a work of art.I like to find an excuse just to go down the basement to look at the masterpiece they created. They also noted the installation by a previous contractor was not up to par. They sloped the evaporator coil to drain properly and relocated the humidifier. Also they noted the drain line from the A/C unit was plugged.This was mainly due to the fact a too small diameter hose was used. New 3/4 PVC tubing was installed to correct this deficiency. I would also like to comment on the duct cleaning. Art and Mark did a masterful job of cleaning and sanitizing them. They too were conscientious and professional. They took whatever time needed to do a thorough job. Now for the cleanliness aspect. All the crew at Northwood made sure not to soil our wood floors by using dropcloths and wearing plasic booties. They also thoroughly cleaned up around the furnace area so not a scrap of debris was remaining.
In summary, Brian and Gary believe in the philosophy that superior craftsmanship and customer satisfaction are the keys to running a successful HVAC business. They are a rare breed these days where only profit is the motivating factor.

Northwood redid the duct work in the old part of our house, installed new duct work in the new part of the house and added gas bbq line. They were profession, courteous but most importantly, did the job right and on time. When working on our house, if they noticed things that were done improperly by the previous owner, they would let us know and then fix the problems. They were even teaching the crew that was installing our fireplace (from a different company) about the code as it relates to gas lines.

We would highly recommend this company to our friends and family as we were very satisfied with their service.

So glad I followed the Northwood van into Home Depot and noticed Holmes on Homes advert. I knew by the advert that Northwood would be a trustworthy and professional company to call for cleaning. I did not care how much the cleaning would cost, as long as the job was done right. John and his apprentice did an exceptional job cleaning and I will definitely refer our neighbours and friends to Northwood Heating for all services offered by the company. We are repeat customers of Northwood Heating and Air Conditionong. There are several reasons why we continue to use their services. Their staff are professional,courteous,and prompt. They were on time and completed the job within the specified time frame. They completely cleaned up the area at the end of the job and were very respectful of the rest of the house by using booties over their footwear and using dropclothes. I would not hesitate to use their services again and highly recommend the company.

As you all know; it is so hard to find reputable service these days. With Northwood I can honestly say “look no more”. These guys delivered the best service that I’ve experienced in dealing with the many Heating & Air Conditioning Companies that I’ve encountered over the last 30-yrs.

I would like to thank Eric & both of his assistants for the top-notch job in both cleaning/inspecting my furnace (they literally took it apart) and most recently in replacing my A/C unit (the neatest installation of pipes & wires – they removed all remnants of the previous two installs). They were so thorough, considerate and respectful of property.

AMENDMENT - 2009MAY21 ...
In the above statement, I gave Northwood Htg. & A/C a glowing review an original rating of "10". I still stand by it when it concerns the workers and their workmanship. The A/C unit was installed in Sep/08.

However, prior to installation I was quoted a rebate by Gary (owner) which was later refused by York due to Northwood filling in the application incorrectly. Northwood promised to honour the rebate plus postage (approx $115). This promise was made in Oct/08. To-date I've been told that they mailed two cheques (Nov/08 & Jan/09), none were received. Prior to the mailing of the 2nd cheque I even suggested they use Registered Mail.

I find this type of customer service sad, especially these days. We are retired folks who have been very patient. We know that the rebate cheque will never materialize, so be warned if you plan to use this company-be careful of rebates. As for my future dealings with Northwood Htg. & A/C -- that will not happen, nor will I recommend them.
