I have moved in to my town home for almost 7 years. The basement is still unfinished, the colour of walls were never changed. Now that I need more room for children and I had Nanette come over for advice on Basement planning and main floor colour selection. She has good ideas to make a small basement functional and cozy. I haven't had any designer before so I cannot do any comparison but she hardly recommends using high-end, expensive products. She understood what the client wants and able to give the proper advice. Another reason for 10/10 is because she is responsive, on time, patient and able to listen from the client. I would recommend her to my friends and family.

I bought a resale condo with 'infrastructure' colours (hardwood, kitchen cabinetry, granite, marble, tiles) that were in the "Warm" colour palette. I am a "Cool" colour person ... and was in trouble trying to figure out what to do!

Nanette spent 3hrs with me - and not only did she have wonderful colour selection choices to help take the edge of this warm 'infrastructure', she offered other suggestions at the same time for ultimate furniture placement, lighting etc.

I have now implemented ALL of her paint colour suggestions - and am planning to ask for more advice on furniure placement, now that I have moved in.

My daughter had a definite idea of what colours she wanted her bedroom to be decorated in to match her Harry Potter blanket. The main colours were bright blue, yellow, and red. Nanette explained that blue walls could make a room seem cold, but by painting her ceiling yellow it would be like adding sunlight into the room. We put an area rug with lots of red in it on the floor and had a douvet cover made to match the rug and voila, a primary coloured room that was delightful for my tomboy daughter.
My son wanted dark blue and green to match his comforter and Nanette showed us how we could do this without making the room seem very small. White ceiling, window, doors baseboards, blinds and white built in bookcase provided the brightness needed to keep the room looking as large as it actually was. A fun ceiling fan with lights that could be directed and an area rug that looked like a river running through a field and meadow put a great finishing touch on the room.

I hoped to get professional advice on home decoration and I was very pleased that I selected Nanette. It has been a very rewarding experience. Nanette spent 3 hours at my home, and I got great value from every minute of it. She examined every corner of my house and provided refreshing ideas on colour combination, art selection, furniture arrangement, and even fengshui tips! She also point out a potential water issue in one of our bedrooms that we haven't yet paid any attention!

One issue i worried about using an interior consultant is being pushed on buying things from the consultant's network. But Nanette dispelled my concerns from the beginning with her genuine interest and devotion to assess my home and my needs, and then coming up different ideas/alternatives to help.

She put great emphasis on helping me to learn so I could do better myself. She is very patient in explaining to me the details and addressing my endless questions. I have learned so much from her during the 3 hours!

Having an interior designer help us with our renovations was a new experience for us..in the past we had always relied on input from family/friends or simply guessed at what we thought would look good in our house. Needless to say we were always left feeling less than fully satisfied with the results in the end. For this job, even though it was relatively small (reno to powder room, living room, dining room), we decided to spend the extra money and go with Nanette in hopes that her added expertise and guidance would make this reno a very positive experience. We were so glad we did invest in Nanette. She took us to decisions we never would have reached on our own. With her award winning skill in colour coordination and her unique eye to introducing flair and life into any room, she surpassed our expectations! And she did it so effortlessly and efficiently we knew we were getting great value for our dollars. On top of her personal expertise, her rolodex of contacts in the industry is worth its weight in gold. Along with the renos we needed to update all our furniture and lighting in the rooms. Nanette met us at various stores in the GTA and based on our input and her recommendations, we picked up some beautiful loveseats, a sectional, hall bench and other misc pieces. The fabric was all chosen to complement our new colour scheme and existing furniture. Some of the furniture was custom made for us and we were not disappointed when she recommended Vince from Grand Duke's Upholstery. From the colour scheme to the furniture, flooring and lighting, we now have something that is very elegant, warm and inviting, livable and timeless. It was money well spent and we feel that the money and time Nanette saved us with her contacts combined with knowing we won't have to make any major changes now for years to come has convinced us to never do another reno without her involvement.

Now a bit about the contractors Nanette referred us to. All the major reno work (drywalling, new lighting, molding, bathroom fixtures) was done by Peter & Josh. They were always on time and allocated their time to complete all the promised work within the time frame specified. Before leaving each day they left the workplace very clean. They used drop sheets and plastic to isolate the work areas to minimize debris and dust from drifting to other rooms. They even turned off the furnace to prevent dust from entering the HVAC system. At the outset we insisted the job have proper plumbing and electrical permits and Peter was able to accommodate the request without question, unlike other contractors we've had who had insisted permits weren't required and would just add cost and delay to the project. Peter handled our questions and concerns very professionally. When we identified some minor "finishing" issues, Peter was quick to address them to our satisfaction. We were amazed at how quickly Peter and Josh were able to work during the day and complete all the required upgrades, making very efficient use of their time. Peter's final invoicing and tracking of all our changes was very fair and straightforward and made the experience very smooth. Peter even came back a couple of weeks later to install a new TV mount on our wall with no additional hassle or cost to us. All in all a very positive experience!

Paul and his team (Mark and Derek) did an amazing job painting our rooms and applying new wallpaper to our powder room. We had replaced our ceiling and added new crown molding and new baseboard. Their steady hands made for wonderful finishing where trim paint meets the wall paint. They even touched up a few additional areas at no extra charge...now that's going the extra mile!

Kevin has been laying hardwood floor for many years and his expertise shone through when he came to replace our carpet with prefinished hardwood in the living room and family room. He professionally prepared all the subfloor to ensure the flooring would meet our tiled area evenly. Within the estimated two days he was complete. All cutting was done outside (in Feb!) to minimize wood dust in the house. The overall cost ended up being much more competitive to the quote we had received from a reputable flooring store months earlier. Kevin doesn't have a storefront or sales staff to maintain and can keep his costs down, yet has access to an unlimited variety of hardwoods. We simply pre-chose our hardwood in advance and he did the rest!

Nanette has a great wealth of knowledge in her profession. Extremely willing to share her knowledge and expertise. No matter what your budget is, she can come up with some great ideas. She was organized and professional. We had worked with another decorator in our former home. After meeting Nanette, we would definitely hope to benefit from her experience again. What a pleasure to work with.

Nanette is wonderful to deal with, she is punctual and always follows up with advice that she gives you.

Nanette came by for 2 hours today and helped me with so many design solutions for my whole house. She had great ideas to repurpose my silk curtains (instead of just throwing them away), picked paint colours, made lighting suggestions and helped me decide on a bathroom vanity. I learned a lot and am excited to start buying and implementing!

We were quite apprehensive at the begining, not having used an interior designer before, But Nanette set all our apprehensions at rest. She guided us through the color selection process , the result of which we are on our way to successfuly renovate our house. Thanks

Nanette guided us through the process, took us shopping, including a trades only gem for tile and flooring. Her advice was always good, helping us shy away from trends towards results that will last for years. She seemed to be able to quickly key in on our sense of style and was able to suggest options that made our decisions easy. Peter, as one of Nanette's contractor partners did work of outstanding quality (did not include his services in price above). We also appreciated Nanette's ability to add the perfect finishing touches. Something we have a very difficult time in doing. All work was completed on time and within the (revised, and more realistic) budget.
