Home computer work station and chair

I needed a slim, stylish, lightweight, multi-shelved workstation desk and chair to work on my laptop for my one-bedroom apartment.

I went to Ikea and immediately the Fredrik stood out. The desk has a reasonable amount of space for my laptop, papers, and other various things. The two shelves hold my printer, external hard-drive, cable modem, iPod dock, adapters, and desklamp. The shelves are above eye level, so out of the way.

The table can be customized at assembly-time, i.e., difference shelf and desk heights (difficult after the fact). So think about ergonomics and the relative height of the desk and chair (in particular the armrests). The cable holder is good for holding my computer and power cabling out of the way, but could be a little wider to hold more, less cramped.

The chair is reasonably comfortable. I like that the back conforms to your body and is vented/breathable.

[Fredrik Work Station, birch shelves/desk, silver frame]
[Karsten Swivel Chair, blue seat, black back]
[Nominell Armrests (Pair), silver arms, black rests]

Overall, very happy with my purchases. And fits with my colour scheme.

wodelobe closet & drawers

All the drawers from ikea are seriously weak!! I was so disappointed because my drawers can't hold my clothes. It easily fell apart. I am still struggling to find the wadelobe closet and drawers which is tough enough for daily use. Ikea pricing seems reasonable, but it is actually overpriced for such a fragile products!Their products are good for people who live here in Canada only for tempolary;for exaple, international students. In that case, ikea products are disposable after usinf for short time. But I don' reccomend their products for people who are looking for funture for home owners.

rattan bed, coordinating deck and dresser. assceesary to hence the decor gave a relaxing atmostpher for the bedroom

Rattan bed, coordinating desk, rattan window coverings and dresser assceesarized with bamboo sticks around the door frame and the mirror frame hung near the bed. Trimmed post cards pasted on the wall boarded by the bamboo sticks created a relaxing atmostpher for the bedroom.

Lamps and area rugs, etc

I've been shopping at Ikea for years, and while many people still believe they are cheap in quality and sell only assembly-required plain pine shelving, they have truly expanded their style and quality over the years. While recently shopping there I found an extremely modern and trendy lamp which I'd seen elsewhere for approximately $200 and it was only $40 at Ikea! Same goes for their area rugs. We've bought three of them in the last ten years and probably saved somewhere around $1000, compared to other stores. As far as their quality goes, we still own a sofa we bought there 10 years ago, and it looks and feels fine. Same goes for one of our living room chairs, and all of our dining room chairs. I highly reccommend them!

bedroom /wardrobe renovation

I'd been looking around for a suitable wardrobe for my room for a long time due to size/dimension restriction. I tried many furniture stores but there was no result, except IKEA. IKEA not only had more than one options for me, and I was lucky enough that even one of the choice is on sale. Now I have enough storage for my clothes and my room is finally organized.

mirrors

4 wall mirrors were self installed. Instruction manual was bang-on and although it took awhile, there were no complications. Only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was that when we wanted to move them to another room when doing renos, the drywall screws were permanent and we were left with 16 new holes to fill.
