cabinet refacing

to sell my house, I had my old laminate kitchen cupboards refaced in antique white and two glass fronted with antique pewter hardware. They looked like brand new cabinets. Fantastic job!

Carpet Installation

We hired Home Depot to install carpets on two occasions in 2009. In the first instance, we were pretty staisfied with both the product and the quality of the installation. However, the second job left us less than satisfied. We had issues with the quality of the carpet and with the installation itself. They were reasonably quick to return to address the installation issues. However, we have subsequently initiated a claim against the quality of the carpet and that has left us dissatisfied. Our principal complaint is the manner in which the claims has been handled. Our file was lost or misplaced and I had to call the store repeatedly to find out what's going on. They acknowledged the error, though didn't really apologize. I have normally had very positive experiences with Home Depot (particularly the West Van store) as their product seleciton and return policies are very good. In this instance, we have been underwhelmed. It is unlikely we would use Home Depot for a carpet install in the future.

Home Decor

I love this store! It isn't your typical Home Depot. There's quite a bit of home decor supplies available and they have some really great demo rooms assembled. Great selection of area rugs at reasonable prices.

California Shutters

The shutters are perfect. A rep came to my house with samples and measured. The shutters had to be specifically made. They were installed and they are perfect. The service people were professional, on time and excellant at there job. I would get more window treatments from Home Depot

Flooring for Frontroom

The knowledge of flooring shown by your Home Depot crew, saved me $1500 and changed my frontroom from boring to brilliant. The unhealthy rug was changed to wood flooring. I was hesitant to do this, as I've seen some wood disasters and faux pas in many homes in Vancouver. But your expertise insured me that this job was a success.

tile and hardwood flooring,

They helped us choose wood that was easy to install for the do it yourself person. They directed us to the tools we would need and all the small tools we would need. Same for the tiling. They even told us it was cheaper to buy a tile saw than rent one from them. It was so true!

service, plant

ive been to the home depot in west van a few times to pick the odd thing up. Every time i go in, i end up chasing down sales people. I spend about 10 min trying to find someone who is willing to help. Many times they have said, "i dont know" and walked away or pointed and walked away.. either not helpful.

Last time i went in i was looking for the price of a plant. i again got an "i dont know answer", and not a friendly one. I was getting sick of this so i just replyed, "well, can you please find out then?" He rolled his eyes and eventually found out.. but this should not have happened. This is why i only go to home dept if i absolutely need to.

Skylights-Velux

Ordered 2 Velux skylights from Home Depot. Due to inadequate pacakaging from Velux, the skylights arrived damaged...twice. After the lengthy delay in shipments, Home Depot gave us a fair price break as we accepted the second minorly damaged shipment. Would go back to Home Depot when needed.
