Guild Painters Business Has Retired

Bob has been painting different sections of our home and apartment for the last 10 years. He consulted with us on colour and brought large swatches for us to see on the wall before we started so that we were sure of what we wanted. He is professional, patient and never charged us more than his estimate (because of unforseen problems). He always left our home spotless every night. He is a good resource in recommending reliable trades when the situation warrants.

Bob Steele (Guild Painters) painted our whole interior in two phases (November 2006 and February 2007). His workmanship, advice on, and use of colour were all superb. He carefully moved and protected furniture and cleaned up so well that we would have hardly been aware that he had been working if we had not seen the beautiful results. He filled picture-hook holes(except where we wanted the pictures in the same locations) and installed towel racks. Later, after we had suffered water damage on two occasions, Bob replaced drywall and baseboards, sprayed to prevent mould, and repainted, matching the colour expertly. On his last visit (September 2008), he did the work while we were on vacation. We came home to find everything perfect. We were very pleased. Moreover, Bob's invoices were always the same as his estimates, even if the job took longer than he had originally expected. Not only a painter-handyman, but a great guy!

Bob Steele has been doing all my painting and wallpapering for almost 20 years, He is highly professional, does an excellent job and takes pride in his work. The kitchen cupboards he painted 15 years ago are still in fine condition...it's a good thing I like the colour! His good colour sense and years of experience are really helpful when making decisions. He does a great job with the bumps and cracks in my old house. He can wall paper over hills! I recommend him most highly.

We have happily entrusted Bob Steele with our painting and wall papering needs on several occasions during the past 12 years. To begin with, Bob has an impressive understanding of colour and design. From period-style heritage homes to ultra modern condos, Bob provides expert advice on colours and finishes. As for his painting and wallpapering skills, Bob is truly awesome. One project Bob undertook for us involved painting the rooms of an entire house within a tight time frame. Being an older house, Bob encountered many “surprises” and setbacks, requiring some expertise beyond that of a professional painter. He adeptly resolved various household repair issues as they arose during the process of painting the house. Not only did he do a masterful job on this project, he successfully met a very demanding deadline.

There seems to be no end to where Bob’s expertise begins and ends. (His extensive knowledge of all things botanical, for instance, proved very useful in our landscaping projects.) All in all, Bob is a veritable Renaissance Man. We recommend Bob Steele very highly to anyone looking for a high quality interior paint or wallpaper job at a fair cost.
