Greensaver Insulation & Retrofit Services

We hired GreenSaver to re-insulate our attic and add roof vents to our house. The insulation was excellent and our home was immediately warmer in the winter. However, we had a leak in our ceiling about a year and half later, so we called Avenue Roofing to diagnose it. The attributed the leaking to faulty installation of the roof vents, which they fixed. I sent an email to Green Saver to see if we could be compensated for that portion of the job. I did not hear back from them.

Update (September 2016):
Upon reading this review, Scott immediately contacted me and refunded all charges we paid for the installation of the roof vents. I have updated my review accordingly.

Scott and the team at Greensaver were recommended to me. They were timely, efficient and confident in their work. They quickly responded to questions and concerns. The group came in and finished all the work in a day and a half. There was a little confusion around the starting time and so be sure to clarify early when they are starting. I took extra time off work that wasn't needed. But they came in quickly, worked hard, got everything done and cleaned up as promised.

Upgrade the attic insulation to R50 using blown cellulose and dense packed cellulose.

We bought this old one and half storey house that did not have any insulation in the Attic. Through out the last 2 winters there were huge Ice dams forming on the roof. I called in several contractors. There were various suggestions that were either too expensive or would have had a major disruption to our life. Don was very helpful through out the process, explaining the whole process and guiding us through the various options. He was also kind enough to work around our schedule. He is knowledgeable, helpful and easy to work with. Work was done over a 3 day period.

The crew were a little late on their first day however Don was on the call all the time and kept us informed of the delay. The crew were very professional, competent and efficient. The job was finished on time, and the crew cleaned up the area before leaving the house. Very satisfied with the work.

They came and re-insulated our roof as well as installed insulation around our pot lights and skylights.

They arranged a quote promptly, were flexible on the date and finished job 1 day early and on budget. Easy to get in touch with and communicate with. They were a pleasure to deal with. The epitome of professional throughout.

Would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

We had Green Savers insulate basement walls with polyurethane foam in late 2015. The sales manager who came on site to quote the job was knowledgeable, professional, punctual and good! The crew came at the agreed upon date / time and worked professionally to insulate the basement walls. They knew the materials, equipment and how to apply it properly. I was happy with the job start to finish. This is the 2nd time that we have used Green Savers for insulation and air leakage sealing - very pleased once again!! Highly recommend Green Savers.

Their service was prompt, efficient and complete. Treated our home well during the process and left the premises clean and tidy. We were very happy with their work.

GreenSaver is a very professional organization, from the initial of the work plan to the completion of the project, their communication both; by phone and email were excellent. The work was carried out as per schedule, the crew was very courteous, knowlegeable and provided a very high quality of work and in a safe manner. The site was left very clean by the crew. I am very pleased with the quality of the work thank you.

My bungalow was built in 1954, and it was cold and drafty in the winter. We have a room above the garage that was particularly cold, with a closet that was extremely cold and drafty.
In the main floor and room above the garage, there were a lot of air drafts coming from the baseboards on the main floor, even though our basement is finished with insulation and vapor barrier. Don ( the technical sales person) explained to me that of that was the air movement inside the "narrow cavities"
Don was very helpful and explained in detail the pros and cons of the "narrow cavity insulation" process. We were very skeptical at first but decided to go ahead. Here is a list of things we noticed immediately after installation:
- the drafts coming from the baseboards disappeared completely. This was important as we were installing new floors. So there will be no more condensation on the floors
- all exterior walls are now warm
- the room on top of the garage and it's closet are now at a very pleasant temperature. We have two air outlets there and will likely be closing one.
In summary I can say:
- the improvement in comfort was significant and immediate (1 day with little inconvenience)
- the cost was significantly less than framing and insulating as other companies suggested and quoted
- the green saver installers plugged the holes with drywall compound. A few days later I sanded and painted them.

If I had to do it again, I would do the exact same job. I'm very satisfied with the work and the results.
