Encore Windows & Doors

The master bedroom in my condo faces Bloor Street East. Traffic noise, pedestrians talking and sirens from ambulances and fire engines bothered me at night.

In another property, I had tried using Plexiglas for soundproofing but did not find it effective at reducing the noise. An Internet search led me to Encore Home Improvements, and a check on HomeStars convinced me to get in touch with that company. I am glad I did. From start to finish, I was impressed by the professionalism displayed by the staff of Encore Home Improvements. They really strive to do a perfect job.

The soundproof windows look great (actually you don’t really notice them, which is the idea). They were installed almost two weeks ago and they work. Traffic and pedestrian noise have disappeared. Sirens can still be heard but seem less close. Strangely enough, so far I have noticed them only during the day and not at night. I am sure they are still sirens every night on Bloor Street near the fire hall just east of Sherbourne. Probably because my sleep is deeper I have not heard them.

I can't beleive these guys! Encore came in and replaced a security office door and installed security glass in our rolling doors. The pride these guys took in the work is reminisend of how things were in the old days. When they were finishing up I went to take away the garbage but they already had done that. When I went to sweep up the work area. it was cleaner than the rest of the shop. I had window cleaner in hand but they also had the glass cleaned. I had to nail them on something so I really started inspecting the door. The contract said the existng hardware was to be used and to my surprise they put new hardware and didn't charge me extra. I phoned the owners and ask them who do they think they are? providing this kind of service, they shrugged and said this is their norm. Thank you Encore for providing me with an Encore performance.

In 2010, I purchased a condominium with a wonderful view of the St. Lawrence River. It also came with a view of the highway that runs alongside it, and noise! I thought I would be able to adjust, but the din was terribly intrusive, day and night. I finally decided to do some research into soundproofing windows, and came upon Encore Home Improvements and their BQuiet Soundproof windows. I sent an e-mail and got an answer within 24 hours. After that, things moved quickly. Anthony came down from Toronto to take measurements and confirm what was best for my needs. The order arrived on time and installation was completed promptly by Michael. I am very satisfied with the results. I can still hear some traffic noise (this was expected, as the windows cannot eliminate 100% of the noise), but it is much less intrusive, and I can sleep soundly at night without ear plugs. Some of my neighbours have come to see and are impressed with the results, not to mention the interior aspect of the finished product. The building will be replacing the exterior windows within the next few years, so this wll only improve on the noise reduction that I have already experienced.

The only minor problem encountered was a delay in receiving my warranty (apparently a postal code mixup). But I have it now, so that has been resolved.

I have no hesitation in recommending Encore Home Improvements. I found Anthony to be responsive to all my inquiries and concerns, and Michael was kind enough to show me how to remove the windows (though I might need a refresher in a few years)!

The ordering was made easy, Anthony educated me on the various products available on the market, the installation was clean and very fast. All questions were answered within the same day of email...overall, a great job. I love how my house looks from the outside and inside.

After speaking to a few window and door companies and listening to their suggestions; I finally came apon Encore who asked me how I wanted my walk-out enclosure to look.I had a drawing that the others didn't care to look at and Encore took my drawing and made it into reality. My walkout enclosure looks great- they even matched the colour. I highly, highly recomend ENCORE

We live in a small community in Acton, ON. Our home is 35yrs old, and we are renovating to update, and make more energy efficent. We were referred to Encore, and are glad we were. We replaced all of our windows and 2 patio doors. Our installation was completed on time (there was a written guarantee for this). Our house was cleaned so well when they were done that if it weren't for the lack of draft we felt in the living room now...you would never know our house was a construction zone for 3 days.
We couldn't be happier...money well spent!

After several issues with the windows in our 8yr old home, we made the decission to replace our builder grade windows...which were not energystar rated...did not have Low E or Argon. We recievied a few quotations, and were pleased with the professionalism demonstrated by Anthony. Although, this was not the "cheapest" quote we felt comfortable with our decission. After only 5 weeks our windows were installed, and boy what a difference quality makes. From our initial consultation, to the payment at the end...EVERY contact made with encore was a wonderful one. Our windows look great, staff were pleasant and efficent, and most of all, EVERYTHING we were promised was done, and done beyond our expecatations.
We will definetley use Encore again, and reccommend them to anyone looking for new windows or doors!

Last fall, we finally decided that it was time to redo all the windows in our house along with the front door entrance. We knew this was a huge investment so we wanted to make sure that we had the right company do the work. Encore was definitely the right company! Mike listened to all the issues we had regarding our existing windows and front door entry and was able to provide us with options. We have a huge two storey window in the back of our house that we were unhappy with. Mike was able to modify the design so that it would meet our needs. Now we can look out that window and really appreciate the view of our backyard. Mike's patience and knowledge was really hi-lighted when it was time to choose a front door and transom. We had an idea of what we wanted but we were unable to find a picture of anything like it. Mike worked alongside us to design the door and the transom. He never pressured us to settle but wanted to make sure that it was exactly what we wanted. He understood our need to make sure that the front entrance made the impression we wanted it to make as well as satisfying our need for privacy. After several weeks of design editing, we were finally satisfied and that was nothing to how satisfied we were when it finally got installed. What a difference! We love it, our family and friends love it, and our neighbours can't stop commenting. Mike's high level of knowledge and professionalism was maintained throughout the whole process. Once we finalized our decisions, the windows and doors were delivered and installed on time. I don't think we can say enough about George and Shawn. They always showed up on time, were very professional and organized and their workmanship was flawless. Before going home for the night, they always made sure to clean up and showed respect for our home, both inside and out. They went beyond our expectations. In the end, we are truly satisfied with the sales, service and product that we received from Encore. I would definitely use them again in the future and refer them to our friends and family. Please pass on my thanks to Anthony and the installer - I was very pleased with the completion of the project, accuracy of the order, and the efforts made to keep the mess to a minimum during the install. The custom stained glass transom window looks great. Our century-old house certainly provided the installer with plenty of challenges, but he did an excellent job.

We had to have some of our older windows replaced. The turn-around was fantastic and the quality was great. Very knowledgeable team and so helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend encore to anyone I know.
