Installed Hot Water Heater/ Gas

Enbridge Gas , is a very exceptionall company, with the most reasonable rates for their service. Their employees by far , are some of the most greeting people I have met . They come on time and well prepared to do their job, even in the harshest of conditions. I would love to reccommend this company to my family and friends , as they will be satisfied with this company.

Repair to Hot Water Heater

Our hot water heater finally gave up the ghost. There had been other companies that had come and "repaired" the problem... but few months down the road the hotwater tank would quit again. The technician that serviced the hotwater tank this time found a crack for the gas that goes into the hotwater tank. This was repaired quickly and efficiently. Thank you!

Stay far... far away....

We had purchased our first home 8 years ago, and had Enbridge install an AC Unit that they recommended. That summer, we noticed that it was ALWAYS on, and could not keep up with some of the hotter days in the summer. When Calling the Salesman about the unit possibly being too small, he said that it was not, and he would sell us a new unit, but we already own the current one. He also said that newer units are supposed to run constantly to provide better effeciency. We had no money at that time, so we had to live with what we were sold.

We had an issue with our existing furnace about 2 years later, which we called them to fix. They did a good job (hense one star in the rating) and we purchased a maintenance agreement on both systems to cover us for unexpected events.

Now that we are more established and have a little more money, we decided to replace the furnace (now 20 years old), and every company that we had in to quote on the furnace told us that the AC is undersized for the house, doesn't have a matching coil, and the comressor was not placed in an ideal location for airflow. Needless to say, I feel like Enbridge really screwed us over with our AC Purchase/Install. Based on that, we are now replacing the AC until (again) so that we are running a matching one to the furnace, it is right-sized, and the installation is done properly.

I just called Enbridge to cancel the service contract that we've been paying into since we had the problem with our furnace (5 years), and I have found that I have to pay out the remainder of the year of the contract (5 months x $30 + HST) which has not left a hatred in my soul for this company. I've paid them almost $2000 for a service contract that I've never used (ever) and they want another $150 for me to cancel it. (not to mention the price of the AC Unit plus install that was botched all along the way)

All that I can say is that you should definately get other bids on your system and raise an eye to anyone that quotes a unit whose capasity is different that what the others are quoting. It is always possible that we had a poor salesman, and poor installers... but to have them both on one job is a little suspecious.

Replace old furnace & install AC

In 2002 Enbridge Replaced my old furnace with a new high efficiency furnace. They recommended and installed a 80,000 unit Carrier furnace, but my home was never as comfortable as it had been with the old furnace. At the time, I paid $500 extra to have a special filter attached to the furnace (I have allergies). When the time came to install, the filter they attached was not the one I ordered, but they told me it was "just as good" as the one I ordered. When I contacted Carrier to ask about the filter that they installed, they said it was just the normal filter that came with the furnace - at no extra charge. When I called Enbridge back to insist that they take out that filter and put in the one I paid for, the person in charge of things feigned ignorance about the difference between the filters. (If it is your job to sell furnaces and filters, shoudl one not know about the products you sell?) The did finally install the right filter, but it left me with a real sense that they did have integrity when dealing with customers.

It gets worse! In preparation for a renovation this year, I had a heat loss study done on my home. The HVAC expert told me they installed a furnace that is way too big for my home. I will have to either replace the new furnace with one that is properly sized for the house, or else I will have to re-do all the duct work and install twice the ducts to accommodate the load from the furnace. Otherwise the city will not approve the renovations. Either way I am out of pocket thousands of dollars. I strongly urge you to avoid Enbridge when buying a furnace or AC! My experience thus far is that they are either not knowledgeable about their products and they certainly have not acted with integrity or professionalism. It has and will cost me dearly.

Replacement of water heater and damaged pipes

Our water heater broke and required replacement. The Enbridge repairman came promptly and noticed that the pipes leading from the water heater were showing extensive signs of strain and damage due to calcification. He recommended we have them replaced immediately to avoid further and more costly repairs. He arranged for workers to come to the house later that day and the entire job was completed by 5pm by a very efficient and professional team.

The pipes froze I had damage to the house all cuz of their stupidity and poor customer service. Incompetent!

Gas company

We had a gas leak from our hot water tank and I called them right away when I smelt gas, they got us to leave the house and came as quick as possible, shut the gas off and had someone come to the house to check were the leak was. Found the leak and all is fixed now, got a new hot water heater and we are now safe.
