Hello potential home buyers out there. If you're anything like me the experience of buying your first home will feel equally exciting and nerve wrecking. My main goal was to find a good sound home. No one wants an expensive lemon! Brent was referred to me by a friend but before booking him I read his reviews. He is highly rated with good reason. I found him to be honest, experienced, knowledgeable, thorough and easy to talk to. He is impartial not siding with either the selling nor buying agent. Most importantly, It felt like he truly cared about me his client. He took a long time and didn't rush his assessment. Now I too join the bunch who have no qualms highly recommending him.

Brent inspected an older home I had purchased. He was knowledgable, thorough, professional and very engaging. He took his time to answer our questions and explain many details of the home including money saving tips for future improvements. The experience was valuable and very enjoyable!

Based on the reviews on homestars, I called Brent just the day before the inspection. He is very friendly, came on time, and very knowledgeable. He spent the most time in areas which needed most attention which in my case was the basement, he looked at every inch of the basement, saw stuff I did not see. I strongly recommend hiring Brent for your home inspection. We first found Brent on Homestars.com and have used his services twice before (once for a 3yr old home in Markham in Sep/10 and once for a 8yr old home in Toronto in Oct/13).
Brent is not only very friendly and knowledgeable but also very professional (eg. arrived early at the site). He is also very thorough, so much so that you'd think he was buying the home for himself! In his report, he pointed out several minor repairs and preventative fixes. His level of thoroughness gives me a lot of comfort and confidence before buying a house. He took 100+ photos during the inspection, which he provided along with the inspection report that same night. In addition, Brent is extremely patient and took the time to answer all our questions (in person and via email) -- this is invaluable when you are a first-time home buyer or if you are not handy like me. Further, Brent will not hesitate to go the extra mile for his clients. For example, a few of the shingles was missing from the roof (likely blown off by strong wind). Brent came back another day to replace the shingles at no charge. I know this was a easy fix if you know how to do it, but it was very kind of him to offer.

In all, I cannot say enough good things about Brent. We were all very impressed by Brent's service and knowledge, including my real estate agent who has worked with many other home inspectors in the past.

Brent arrived on time and outlined to me what he would be doing in his review of the home and how long he expected it to take. He methodically went over the residence that we planned to buy and when he was finished he reviewed his results with me. He let me know about the home's a/c and heating, and the state of its electrical and plumbing systems. He made a survey of the roof which he discussed with me. Although roof maintenance is the responsibility of the condo corp, his looking at the roof was helpful to me since it gave me an idea of the quality of maintenance the condo corp provided. He pointed out several minor problems to me in the home, and one major one that led to a successful negotiation with the Vendor for a repair to be made and paid for before closing. I'm very grateful for Brent's work and his insights -- and also for the outcome that has led to my increased peace of mind.
