Home inspection

They did an inspection of an income property I was buying. They had done an additional report so I paid $300 for them to do the inspection in front of me. They were so thorough and were able to prioritize the work that needed to be done right away and what could wait. They continue to send me "recall notices" to let me know if any of the appliances I have in the house have been recalled.

Home Inspection Review

We were about to put an offer on a house and decided to pay the fee to meet with the home inspect (Gordon Mathieu) to review the report. He bent over backwords to make the timing work for us and was incredibly patient with all our questions. We bought the house and would recommend him to anyone looking for an home expert! Thanks! A+

Home Inspection of new home

Gordon did a great job inspecting our new home. He was thorough and conscientious, and provided valuable information about how to resolve the problems he identified. Carson Dunlop was an excellent choice to get an accurate picture of what we were getting into.

Home Inspection

We had a great experience with Carson Dunlop. Gordon was our home inspector. We felt very comfortable because he provided a very good explanation of each part of the house. The report we received was very thorough and with the detail needed. I would highly recommend Carson Dunlop and of course Gordon.

Home Inspection

I had some concerns that Gordon did not address during the inspection, although the area was not completely accessible there were visible signs (outside pipe which froze this winter, and multiple plumbing issues) of potential problems, I would expect a home inspector to find, be able to have a risk assessment, and question things that are odd, like why eaves troth's were removed from back of house (reason: weeping tile is not functioning at the back of the house and previous owners were aware). Also my patio was identified in the report as neutral which means its flat (I had no idea what neutral meant), however closer observation the concrete is sloping towards the house (cracks in concrete identify slop change). After many issues with the home within 3 months of purchase (plumbing, sewage backup, water damage in basement, and many thousand dollars later), I had another home inspector assess my house and he found things not identified in my report. My suggestion to people, follow your instinct if you think something is wrong, insist it be investigated. Home Inspector industry is not regulated and they cannot be held accountable for things they missed. If you need a referral I found an excellent inspector through a trusted source and would be glad to provide his info.

Home Inspection

Gordon Mathieu was my home inspector. He is very knowledgeable, professional and meticulous. I would highly recommend anyone who is going to use a home inspector to shadow him/her during the process to learn about the home you are going to live in. I follow Gordon around and he showed me where all the main meters, switches and valves are located. It was a great experience and very educational. I will recommend to friends and family to use Carson Dunlop for home inspection. It's worth every penny. :)
