Caplan Appliances

We purchased the dishwasher, via Caplan's due to their reputation, the sales experience went well. However, when Miele called to confirm delivery for the next morning, we asked about installation, they promptly told us that would be an additional $290 - a fact the sales man failed to tell us. The salesman also "forgot" to tell us that we would have to arrange for and schedule installation separately. The end result is the dishwasher was sitting in our kitchen with no one to install it - the delivery men told us this happens all the time as the salespeople do not understand the Miele system (apparently not just Caplan's), but as a leading retailer, I expected more. I ended up installing myself, as leaving it in the kitchen for an extended period was not an option. When I called Caplan's for an explanation of this misunderstanding, they seemed indifferent, at best.

We had a great in store experience, very knowledgable, helpful and no sales pressure.
The only dissapointment came on delivery (we had other appliances delivered weeks prior by their competition for comparison). They were weeks late to start and then we had to call several times. Upon delivery they did not roll out protective carpet and wore their muddy boots trecking in and out of our home without a word. They swore at each other during installation and seemed rushed and left all the garbage from the installation all over the laundry room. I would recomend one of their competitors before them.

They were very well informed. They were very knowledgeable about their products. The staff was very patient and very willing to discuss a price agreement with us that included the delivery charges. They delivered when they claimed they would. They are very easy to deal with. They return phone calls in a timely manner.

The Caplan's store had a good selection. The staff were well informed and were able to offer a lot of product information. In addition, the Miele centre was very well presented. The test kitchen was particularly well done.

We are undergoing a kitchen reno and needed 3 new appliances (fridge, dishwasher and microwave/fan). We got quotes from Caplan's and Tasco. Tasco beat Caplans on the Miele dishwasher by $200; as we were buying 3 appliances we went back to Caplans and asked if they would match the price on the identical d/w, they said no, if Tasco's has a better price, then go buy it at Tasco's. So we did, I suggest you do the same. We made the mistake of buying the other 2 appliances at Caplan's. The fridge has an incemaker and filtered water tap. Our contractor installed the water line using the fittings provided with the fridge, the water comes out so slowly it takes several minutes to fill a single glass. Wondering what the issue was with our new fridge, I called our salesperson at Caplan's (ed- name removed) to see if she could shed some light on the problem. That was eight days ago and I have yet to hear back. So much for after sales service. A few months ago we bought an unrelated appliance at Sears, all I can say is even Sears beat the service at Caplan's hands down. Don't get suckered into the idea this "family business" provides superior service. Use them for comparison and move along, buy from somewhere else. Wish we had, maybe then our $3000 fridge would be working properly....

After doing the obligatory shopping around and visiting different showrooms, we found Caplans to have the best combination of competitive prices and good service. Nancy at Caplans was quite helpful and we are (knock on wood) pleased with our purchases (it's been just under 6 months) with no issues.

We have bought appliances from Caplan's twice now. We were recommended by my dentist. They have the best prices and staff out there. Someone is always willing to answer any question you have, even Mrs Caplan herself. We just love this store and will always return. Mike

We used Caplan's for our appliance purchase while renovating our kitchen. From being shown around the showroom (with a young newborn in tow) and given practical advice by the salesperson to the delivery this company has been fantastic.
Our appliances arrived without a hitch and a phone call prior to arrival was made by Caplan's- very handy.
All in all excellent service, we would use them again and highly recommend this company.
No one could come close to touching their prices!

We purchased 4 Kitchen Aid appliances (fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave) for our new home. Caplan's prices beat anything else on the market by well over $1500. Their service was very knowledgeable and friendly. Even more impressive, when our house was delayed they held the appliances for free for another 8 months. We reccomend them to everyone we know!
