Brookside Roofing

Brookside Roofing repaired some extremely difficult slate tiles on my home. My house in Rosedale has a very steep, very high roof. The roof repairs were executed perfectly. Brookside Roofing explained everything in detail and their price was a tad high but well worth it considering that other roofing companies did not even have the proper slate tiles. The tiles are 80 years old and very difficult to find because they are no longer sold at roofing supply stores. I am 100% happy and impressed with Brookside's professionalism and workmanship.

The work seems to have been done just fine- time will tell if the vent they installed leaks or not.
I was less impressed with the professionalism of the crew, who tried to tell me about some problems unrelated to the fan install- problems which I knew were not present due to having had the specific work just completed. (I don't want to be specific about the details.) It seemed they were trying to bait me for additional work.
Overall, the work seems ok, but I have no reason to recommend (or to not recommend) this company.

I had a few people give prices and Bill's review and explanation was the most complete and thorough. He provided good options for the work. His crew is hard working and polite.

Bill and his team was on time, thorough, spent time to explain the process, took pictures of my roof to show me what was going on, did the job correctly and in two days, cleaned up the rather extensive mess and left us with a very warm and dry home. Very pleased.

My flat roof needed to be completely removed and replaced with a new one. Even though it was a very ugly job with bad access and the weather did not cooperate the entire project went smooth and problem free.

The installation of the roof was fine but I had to check on the work since there were several problems. Since then singles and flashing have fallen off and Brookside shows no signs of being willing to fix. Solution: call and pretend to be a new customer to get them to take an interest!

We aquired several quotes and reviewed the companies. Brookside was in the middle pricewise and able to do the job within our time frame. The original quote was much lower than the final price but not without reason. It turned out that we had 4 layers of shingles, except at the edges, and much of the roof sheeting was rotting. I think fly by night roofers were used in the past and scammed the previous home owners. Bill, Brookside Roofing owner, was really good at explaining this to me and suggested how he could go about rectifying this and give us a sound worry free roof. After the roof was stripped they had to resheeted one complete side before reshingling. Rot had set in from the heat due to lack of proper roof ventilation and the 4 layers of shingles. The job was well done, good venting was installed and the site was spotless when the job was complete. After the crew was gone I weent up into the attic and noticed a few roof boards that should have been replaced. I called Bill to talk about this and within a couple of days his boys were back and made the neccessary repairs. I would recommend Brookside Roofing if your in need of an new roof. This was done 2 1/2 years ago and with all the snow this year there was a small leak which I will be talking to Bill about and I'm sure it will be made right as their work is garanteed.
