Basement Insulation

Avenue Insulation spray-foamed our basement on the 23rd of December, and I'm just getting around to giving them a review (we're just finishing our renos today!)

The end results, a warmer basement and better sound proofing, were beyond our expectations. Our contractors, and some friends in the reno business thought the job was excellent as well. Expect referrals!

Beyond the results, my fiance and I were extremely pleased with the fact that Avenue Insulation showed up on time, cleaned up well, and also didn't have an issue with a last minute addition (one extra wall to foam) and re-quote. They also stayed on budget -- no surprises!

Thank you from Mike and Diane in Mississauga!

kitchen / living room renovation

Just had a reno project insulated, very happy with the results. Laura at the office was very informative and patient, Andy was very knowledgeable. Would recommend them to others, and intend to use them again for future projects.

Spray foam insulation of crawlspace walls

I decided to convert our dirt crawlspace into a usable storage area. The last step in finishing this project right was installing closed cell foam insulation on the perimeter walls in the crawlspace (including the joist ends).

Andy (a carpenter by training) provided a very competitive estimate on the job and was the only person to offer great advice on prepping details that would lead to a nice clean finish once the foam was installed.

Andrew and Sergey did a great job on the install day. Parking the truck was quite the challenge (it did not fit in the alley), but Sergey's Russian tank driving skills paid off and he managed to squeeze the back into the alley so that the hoses could reach our crawlspace (phew!). Apart from one interruption from a neighbour who had to drive out of the alley, everything went smoothly. Andrew did an excellent job on the foam installation, and boht he and Sergey were very professional and diligent in getting the job done.

I will never again wonder who to call for spray foam insulation.

Thanks Andy, Andrew and Sergey for the important part you guys played in finishing our crawlspace right!

Bedroom insulation

I've had Avenue Insulation in for 2 jobs, 2lbs SPF both times.

The first we had to have a callback because it didn't meet the depth specs. I would have accepted a discount, but Andy wanted to have the job done right. It was not a problem to schedule but we had to vacate for another 24 hour period.

The second recent job used different material, different truck and different guys. Much better job this time with very little mess. The only complaint is that this time they wanted the entire bill paid upon truck arrival, not job completion. Good for them, risky if there are deficiencies. For $900 and a repeat contractor I wasn't too worried, but if it was anyone else I would have told them to shove it.

Basement Insulation

I am doing a basement renovation in a detached bungalow on the east side of Toronto and wanted a good vapour barrier for the exterior walls (as well as qualify myself for the full energy rebate). After getting a couple quotes, Avenue came in at par cost wise and got back to me immediately after I'd called. Laura and Andy in the office know spray foam and I say this because I think I am one of those somewhat annoying customers that constantly calls back with questions on a daily basis. All my questions were answered promptly and kindly by those two at the office.

The installation was done by one of the newer guys to the company, Andrew, and he did an excellent job. He ensured the R-24 value I needed and cut off any small sections that went over the edges of the studs so drywalling will be a breeze (as much as drywalling can be!). Minimal splatter and my basement was left just as clean as I'd left it.

I would definitely recommend this company. I was always called back quickly, the quote I got was decent, and the knowledge of everyone involved was superb.

Thanks again. And apologies on the parking nightmare that is Woodbine Avenue!

Spray foam of basement walls

Our home renovation last summer included a complete gut of our basement. After much research we decided that the extra cost of spray foam insulation was worth it. Best decision we ever made!

We got quotes from a few companies and Avenue was actually the most expensive. However, Andy was by far the most knowledgeable and the person I was most comfortable with. My research also told me that this seemed to be a quality company.

After a bit of haggling, Andy agreed to lower the price slightly and that made it a slam dunk.

The workers showed up on time and the job was completed to a very high standard. Andy had given us some very helpful tips on how to prepare the studs in advance. In addition, his people did an exceptional job on some walls where we had decided to leave the old studs even though they were a little uneven. There was no mess left behind and minimal splatter.

We are extremely happy with the work Avenue did. The basement is now by far the warmest part of the house! We are currently planning to insulate the rest of the house and Avenue is our first and only choice for the job.

Installation of foam insulation in a bathroom

I met Andy and Laura at the home show and booked an appointment. They showed up on time and gave me a fair price. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the initial installation date due to an electrical issue and Laura got me another install date quickly. The installation staff were polite and took pride in their work. They completed the job and cleaned up after themselves. Thank you Andy and Laura for making this a pleasant renovation experience.

Basement Installation - 2 Walls

I recently had waterproofing done at my house and needed to do insulation - I was under a time crunch and Avenue came through big time and could add me to the tailend on a bigger job. The guys arrived after hours to fit us in and did an excellent job - it is going to make a BIG difference in my basement. The crew was very nice to my family and myself - I would fully recommend these guys!
