Ron was absolutely honest and factual about how the job would be done and how it would turn out. There was no nonsense or second guessing and as a result I got exactly what I signed up for - - a beautiful resurrection of a twenty one year old floor as he described it would be .

Our main level floor reno was extensive, Ron, his son and team spliced in flooring to match a new kitchen floor to the old floor in the main living area. Despite hiccups with other trades, Acorn Wood Floors spend endless extra hours to make sure the job was complete and the entire main floor refinished, in the time frame required. They were exceptionally friendly, approachable and able to 'go with the flow' when required. We would highly recommend Ron and his team for your hardwood flooring needs, they will exceed your expectations!

Ron and Alex did a superb job form start to finish having to remove old carpet, move around some heavy furniture and rebuild some stairs before installing the new hardwood floor. My wife and I could not be more pleased. As an added bonus they are extremely friendly and considerate.

During a renovation on our 65 yr old home we had to remove a wall and subsequently an old wood floor. We wanted to keep the look of the original strip oak floor with border detail into the newly created space. Ron and his crew did an amazing job of adding new floor to match the old and refinish it to a beautiful warm lustre. It was a work of art done in less than a week.

Ron did our downstairs living area in 2012 with distressed hickory. We were so impressed with the quality of his work we asked him again to do our upstairs area. This time we chose cultured maple floors.

We gave him access to our place so we wouldn’t have to be there when this work was being done. He kept us up to date on the progress and the final project was bright and beautiful.

He ripped out the 25year old carpets and we were left with a new upstairs! Like a new home!

Our beautiful hardwood floors replaced exactly as they were 78 years ago. Incredible artistry and experience needed to accomplish this job in 3 days. (Not including tear out and dry out wait time)

Ron and his son, Alex, did a remarkable job removing original carpeting from floors and stairs and then laying high quality bamboo flooring and new baseboards on our whole top floor. Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic meant that the job was spread over many months but the end result was worth the wait. They also rebuilt the main staircase to the upstairs and topped the stairs/back of the risers with a different wood, stained to match the bamboo. Each stair had double strips of 1 inch wide sand laquered lengthwise into the finish to prevent slipping (especially important for our dog but also for both my husband and for me - we both have visual problems). Or main floor had been done by Acorn 9 years previously and the bamboo flooring had fared very well. Great family company!

Ron and his staff at Acorn Wood Floors are amazing. They completed floor repairs on the original floors in my home built in the 1930s that was buried under decades of tile, subfloors and cement.
Ron's artistic talent is commendable. He was able to remove nails from the floor and make it look like natural wood instead of unsightly blemishes. His artistry in stains and colours blended in new wood with the existing old floor to look uniform. One has to look hard to see the difference between old and new.
I did not take before and after pictures, and Ron has the pictures and my endorsement for his work.

Acorn had previously refinished our hardwood floors 6 years ago. The kitchen was starting to show some wear, so we had them come back to give the floor a light sanding and a new coat of finish. Just like the first time, they did an excellent job. The finish is completely smooth and even, and there was no noticeable dust produced during their work.
