Do not trust Milani. Document their work, take pictures prior to them coming, at every step and stay nearby the whole time. I called Milani to do standard maintenance, i.e. replace a 15 years old standard hot water tank that did not show any outward sign of problem (no rust, no leak). This hot water tank was the original one, which was installed at the time of the house construction, according to the Plumbing Code standards. Milani sent a plumber named Joe. I'm going to try to do a short story here, but it is really hard because of the magnitude of the damage that ensued and time wasted; and the subsequent response by Milani, this last point being the most important. I can understand somebody making a mistake, but what I can not come to term with is the unprofessionalism and Milani's response to it. While the plumber was at my house, I asked him a few questions about the product and he was arrogant in his answers; he also did not bother to protect the flooring and I had to do that myself.
Consequence of Joe's visit to my residence: Significant water damage due to a pipe that Joe left unconnected (he said I don't know what this pipe is, but it's going to be fine), burned / sparks marks on my brand new flooring, located directly in front of the hot water tank, at the exact location where Joe was standing, which Joe appears to have tried to conceal by cleverly but oddly dragging a piece of furniture over them before leaving my place (protecting the flooring would have been too much work for him I guess). Several hours spent on hold trying to get Milani to follow-up on the damage, as they were trying to cut corners at every step. A major patching and painting job (factor in dust, mess, mayhem) that lasted for several weeks in a row.
Milani offered to cut and patch my brand new carpet which was damaged by Joe's carelessness (I paid over 2K for the carpet a year ago). So instead of telling you all the details of the ordeal with Milani, I only want you to know that if they mess up, they will not come rushing to fix it or compensate you. Instead, they will try to deny responsibility, put you on hold, and try to resolve things to THEIR satisfaction. It will soon be four months since the initial damage, and they still have not wrapped up. They made me feel like I had to beg after the mess THEY caused. I had to argue and insist with them at every step of the restoration process to get them to follow-up. They DO NOT follow-up on their own initiative. I have had to insist, send emails, spend hours on hold, follow-up by phone, miss work, lose sleep, etc. I strongly advise you to get a referral for a trustworthy and knowledgable independent plumber instead of calling Milani. Don't call that dreaded number.
I had a city inspector come to my place and the work they performed does NOT meet the Plumbing Code standards.
