This company has questionable practices ! I called up for a quote for a service call on my furnace as it was not working and making noise. The female on the phone said it was $98 (about $15-$18 more expensive then other places I called). As I was about to hang-up she said "oh my manager just yelled at me it's $69 if you are a new customer" I said OK and booked an appointment. Then I started thinking, wow....they sure like to hose faithful, repeat customers ! The service appointment was for 2-4pm. They arrived at about 430pm and didn't seem to concerned with being late. They checked the problem and found it to be the Vent Motor that needed to be replaced. They said it was going to be expensive and stated about $700-$800 and would have the parts the next day. I was floored. The following day I called several (4) other companies and the quote from them ranged from $520 - $548 (taxes, labour included). I called ARDENT back and they quoted me $602.29 (taxes, labour included). That was after a song and dance from the lady about it being $642 but crediting me with something...down to $592....down to $533...WHAT A JOKE ! Every other company was straight up with the prices - no games. After I told them they were the most expensive in Barrie by $50-$80 and I was going somewhere else, she spoke with the "Operations Manager" and returned to the phone laughing hystyerically and said that they would do it for $520 but "it would have to be done today ! Reluctantly I went with them as this matched the lowest price (quote) I got. I will not be dealing with ARDENT again. Too many games with quotes and very expensive. They will soak you if they can. My advice is to call 3-4 other companies and you will get a more honest quote, unless you don't mind throwing away money !!!

Hello John, I understand your frustration, unfortunately at the time that you called. I was away & we had just hired a new person as a customer service rep and an operations manager, they both did not work out for us shortly after this incident due to reasons similar to the ones you had wrote about.
Unfortunately, part of being in business is hiring the wrong employee from time to time, luckily for us we run a very tight ship and those employee’s were quickly replaced with one’s that are doing a fantastic job.
I hope that you can understand this and know that this is an isolated incident and is not how our business was built. We have thousands of happy customers and positive reviews about our company so when we get a review like this we definitely take it personally and take immediate action.
