Excellent Sale and Occupancy Experience

Received excellent service from Kelly at time of sale and until closing. Occupancy was no issue and home looked excellent at time of walkthru with Jamie. The quality of the build looks excellent for a spec home. I am in the business so feel I know a bit about what to look for. The Pacesetter process looks organized and professional in a business that is tough to manage with the many small subcontractors and trades. I would highly recommend this company.

House construction

We made changes in lighting position through addendum and we paid for change. We still has to get house and we realized at walkthrough that they didnt change position.after so many argue with sales person they offer us they are not going to fix the position but they can install new light which we have to pay again. Which is not a best solution because there going to be so many lights at same area.Very poor customer service. We dont understand we already paid you guys made mostake why pay again. They made alots of other mistake in house which they dont want to rectify. We are so frustrated already. Not going to recommend anybody this builder. Poor workmanship and bad behaviour toward customers.

Seasonal department sucks

I would give zero star for the seasonal department.

Poor customer service, possessed the house in Dec 2015 and till now landscaping still not done in Jul 2017.

Poor planning, they put top soil in Aug 2016 but failed to put grass on, I mean what the heck???

No response to phone calls or emails. Started calling and emailing them in Jun 2017. Numerous calls made yet none answered. Response to emails are super delayed and did not get the issues solved either.

Now thanks to the top soil they put in last year we have to deal with all the weed and the warning from city of Edmonton.

We paid the money of landscaping for peace of mind, not for trimming the weeds ourselves while get bitten by mosquitoes!!!

Stay away from pacesetter homes!!!

Half a million dollar home

Please and please and please don't build with pacesetter homes. My home (Windereme Edmonton) which is over $500,000 I swear is falling apart under 3 years.

After the first year my upgraded expensive stair railing, the cap came off I glued it back ... then the second when off... and now the third is about to come off.... Came home last week to notice my kitchen cupboard door under the sink had fallen off... then the window in the kitchen has fallen off... all this just after 2 years … not sure what to expect at 5 years.

The most painful part of all is my living room flooring... (UP GRADED WOODEN FLOOR) each time I walk on that I get really mad at the builder ... the sound will make u wanna go crazy ... my wooden floor sounds like it is cracking AND ABOUT TO COME OFF... very very bad job or cheap product not sure which one is it ... it has become a shameful affair when my friends and family tell me J.J your home is not even 3 years old and your floor sounds this bad.... Trust me I care for my home cos it’s my baby ... I was just unlucky to get a crazy baby...

Now am planning to take out all the flooring and get it replaced. I hate my floor that such I will be paying $5,000 to remove and replace it.

The sad part of all this I built two houses worth $1m with this builder … trust I will be posting everywhere and telling everyone to stay away from this builder until I get over the $5k am about to spend to remove and replace my wooden floor.

Hi Olajide,

I am so sorry to hear of the problems you are having with your home. Although your Pacesetter warranty period is up after one year, I would strongly recommend getting in touch with Alberta New Home Warranty to see if anything can be done about some of the items you have mentioned above. Here is a link to the Mandatory Warranty section of ANHWP: http://www.anhwp.com/mandatorywarranty/ Please let us know if we can assist you with this in any way by contacting pacesettersales@qualico.com. I hope that helps.

Rough Grade

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service. I bought my house on Oct 2015, it has been almost 2 years, and they have not done the rough grade yet. I cannot even remember how many times I have contacted with them and they never answer the phone. They keep saying it depends on the weather in order for them to touch up rough grade. WELL you could not even find ONE sunny day in 2 years? Two weeks ago, they emailed me saying that the contractor checked my house and he said I have started my landscaping already. That's RIDICULOUS, how can I start my landscaping without a rough grade certificate? Until now, I still don't have my certificate and all the houses in my area have done the landscaping.

Poor service - 1 year warranty

It took them weeks to replied to an warranty service email and their explanation to leaking problem is "water is very magical and we have no idea where the water is from". It seems that they don't want to go further to investigate and quickly cover up the leaking part of the ceiling.
I have called and sent an email to seasonal department asking about rough grading about a month ago, still waiting for a reply...
Think twice before purchasing because it's difficult to deal with both warranty and seasonal departments.

Hi Private User,

I'd like to look further into the warranty and seasonal items you've mentioned above. Any warrantable items noted should certainly be investigated by our warranty team at the time of repair so as to not cause further damage. Regarding your seasonal items, I can definitely provide you with an update as to what stage of the process your file is in. Could you please send all relevant details to pacesettersales@qualico.com for review. Thank you.

Pacesetter Home Builder

Pacesetter was great to deal with up until they received payment for the new home, and we received the keys. Since then it has been fight after fight with them to get things completed around the home that were outstanding. It has been one thing after another.

The most frustrating has been getting our rough grade certificate. We moved in in March of 2016, and were told we would be able to landscape at latest, September. It is almost June of 2017 and we still have not received a rough grade certificate...

Hi Tom,

we have looked into your file and found that our seasonal department did send an email at the start of the season and has been in contact with the co-owner since May 1 2017 regarding your rough grade approval and its status. Touching up the rough grade is completely dependent on the weather and we are unable to have our contractor do this when the ground is still wet.

You do have 1 year from rough grade approval date to complete your final grade and you have 24 months from time of possession to complete your landscaping in order to receive your landscaping deposit back.

In regards to the warranty department, they do not have any outstanding requests from you. They have checked their voicemail log which goes back to 2015, and there are no requests through the customer portal. Our warranty department will follow up with you today.

Thank you.

Home sweet home indeed. Pacesetter gave me the most amazing experience of settling in. Their modern style of houses completely suits my taste. Justin Batiuk is definitely the guy you want to deal with. He helped us out greatly, very accomodating in helping us thoroughly from paperworks to choosing our very own home, a very charming and friendly guy.

Service (Marissa Gabel & Colten Lee) - House

We built a house with pacesetter. Approximate time ~ 1 year.

Marissa Gabel and Colten Lee- the best team. We received excellent service from both of them. They were honest and respectful throughout the entire process with us. We had several challenges along the road (wrong paint colour, glass door approved, wrong tiles etc), but Marissa and Colten made sure we got everything we chose. For example- we chose a glass door that was approved by the company and a few months before possession date, the company says we can't have it because it's not used in our neighbourhood. Marissa actually went around Summerside to see if the houses had the door we selected and there were some! And she made sure we got the door.
Marissa and Colten did not treat us like just some kind of clients, but as people who worked hard and make sure for us to get what we asked and no playing games like most sales people do. During the entire process which took almost a year, we visited Marissa and Colten almost every week for questions and progress and they never were rude or impatient to us, not even once. We visited many show homes and other pacesetter show homes. The reason why we chose to go with pacesetter was solely based on Marissa and Colten. They were honest to us since the second we met them with house price, location etc. No game playing to force us to buy the house like many other sales persons. We have to mention that Alan - the person who painted our house, he was very good to us. He was respectful, stayed the entire time during our possession date to do any touch ups. It's not the company, it's the people who work that can make a difference in a client's experience. And we had a great experience with pacesetter because of the people like Marissa, Colten, Alan. Thank you much Marissa and Colten:-)

Terrible!

Really bad experience. I couldn't recommend Pacesetter to anyone. Please do your research before building. They do not have high standards, quality building material and quality control is awful in my experience.
