Appliance Repairman

They initially said that the call would be $80 to provide an estimate. They came and charged $280 plus taxes. Nothing has been done since, they took the money and ran. I have placed several calls into them to get the $200 back (wanting to honour the $80) and they are not returning calls. They have left 1 message wanting another $300 plus with half paid now to come in and may be fix the problem. Not reliable at all.

I emailed The Appliance Repair Guys Saturday evening and asked if they service Huebsch washing machines. I was called the next morning and told yes they service all brands so I set up a service call for later that afternoon. The technician determined I needed a timer, said he could not locate the part on the listing he had access to on his phone, the person responsible for ordering parts would be in the office Monday morning, he would get back to me. I paid $80 plus HST for the service. Tuesday I received a call from the technician stating he cannot get parts for my machine. I called the office to ask how that was possible, I was told my machine must be old, I said no, its a 2007 model. I told them I emailed the manufacturer who confirmed parts are still available. I asked how is it possible that I can purchase the required part and they cannot? They said they are only able to deal with certain suppliers. I do not understand this excuse. I have purchased the part myself. They should have explained that although they may service all brands, they cannot get parts for all brands. I do not recommend this company.

We had the repair man come because our washing machine was leaking.
Repair man was unable to move machine away from the wall to have access to the area. The machine has the drier on top of it and there is no way we ladies here could move it, thats why we called the repair man in the first place.
They did not have any means to lift or move the machine aka Dolly , which is a pretty common thing to have to do, needing to move machines when you come to repair them.. they aren't sitting in the middle of a room waiting to be repaired.
Due to his inability to move the machines he could not repair it, he mentioned that it would be an extra $100 to get someone to come and help him, on top of the $80 for him just showing up and attempting to wiggle the machines.
He also claimed that the circuit board was sending too much power to the unit, which was causing the system to leak?? seemed a little far fetched so we ended our transaction there, costing us $80 PLUS TAX!

This company is a rip off. They came to fix my fridge, and within 10 minutes and a $280 later I was told they couldn't actually do the repair and I needed to call someone else. Do not use these jokers.

Courteous repair person, but this company's fees are completely outrageous. Made the same mistake as others on this site. $200 for half an hour of labour, requiring no parts, plus $80 for the house call. The $316 "repair" cost almost as much as the machine. Appliance Repair Guys depend on you not wanting to waste more of your time to schedule another service firm.

Service charged at $280. Additional part needed quoted under $100 with installation within 3-4 days. $400 collected, additional latch price asked $308 Technician specified labor charge at $280 and hinge part $70. $395.5 collected without warrantee given. Additional $308 +tax requested by vendor for new part, misquoted on site, repair not performed, appliance unusable. Opened a complaint with BBB and the Toronto star.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS! Either totally incompetent or crooks. Not sure which is worse? They replaced our ice maker when the problem was a $20 hose. $500.00 later we still have a leak in our ice maker. To make matters worse they took the old part (which was perfectly good) without our permission. When we asked for it back they had the nerve to request we pay the shipping. When we asked for a proper invoice separating the cost of the part from the labour they refused. Be careful they change their name often but not their ethics.
