I have been living in my house for 8 years and just always assumed that the room over the garage would naturally be colder. As you walked up the stairs to the bedrooms there was always a marked change in temperature and my heating/cooling just never seemed to regulate the whole house properly. My neighbours were having their garage insulated and I agreed to get mine done too and take advantage of a 'group' discount. Best money spent!! Mark and his crew were efficient and punctual and though they could only get half my garage done the first day I could already feel the difference.
I previously kept my thermostat at 24C in the day to have the place just comfortable and 16C overnight which was freezing! Since the insulation the house is toasty at 20/21 which I would have formally found insane! Even with the low overnight setting the house is temperate and I used my AC less in the summer too. I'm yet to calculate the savings but quite sure it will pay for itself in no time. I'm loving not having cold spots in certain rooms and saving energy!
