Parkwood Master Builder

I really enjoyed the experience, right until we took possession of the house. Up until then everyone was friendly and very helpful. Once we took possession, trying to get them to fix what was wrong was a fight the whole way. We have lived in our house 3 yrs now and we are still waiting for them to fix minor things (that are quickly becoming big things). They always seem to have an excuses why it hasn't been done and why it can't be until the next season.

parkwood homes give us a beautiful home and we absolutely love our home , except of one or two minor things all promised work has been done in time period initially given to us .

We purchased a home from Parkwood and have been very pleased with the quality of the workmanship and the response from the warranty team, in particular Jennifer, the warranty manager, to deal with minor issues that arose during our first year of possession. During the purchase period and follow-up the team at Parkwood made every effort to address each concern. The tradespeople that arrived to complete work were pleasant and professional to deal with.
We would recommend Parkwood without hesitation.

Parkwood built our brand new Toscana model home in Keswick. Parkwood's staff were helpful and pleasant through all the stages from initial contact right up to possession. We particularly valued the site supervisor who REALLY made us feel part of their team and took every effort in his busy day to answer questions and show us the progress of the house during the critical early stages.

During my site visits, it was evident that the crews were highly skilled and cared about their workmanship. This held true all the way up to the final finishes, a tribute to the high quality trades that Parkwood uses to build their homes.

Certainly, there were a few items that weren't perfect on possession day, but Parkwood has taken a proactive approach to identify and remedy these items instead of sweeping them away.

We are very happy with our new home and would recommend Parkwood to anyone for their next new home.

We just possessed a house from Parkwood Master Builders in the new Tamarack Commons Area. Finish of the house shows quality and how wellbuilt it is. Ron Torella, the area manager was extra helpful in providing us information about the product as well as accommodated our needs including getting the best package which suits our requirements. As with any new home (this is our 2nd in Edmonton btw), there are some glitches but nothing that Parkwood did not attend to asap. Overall the worksmanship, quality and build of the house is a stand out as compared to the previous house we had built also here in Edmonton. Looking forward to the remaining "seasonal" deliverables but yes I will highly recommend Parkwood to friends or anyone looking for a quality masterbuilder. 5 stars for me!

We bought our house from Parkwood in Keswick area. Sales manager Dawnamarie provides excellent customer service from the beginning to the end. We are really happy to see our house was done properly. When the house is in construction progress, Dawnamarie always send us message to inform us what stage we are at right now which really impressive to me. cuz I know some sales don't respond when the deal is done. We never asked her to do it, but she goes extra mile for her customer and makes us feel that she cares about her customer. And also their service after possession is very good too. They came back to fix some minor problems we mentioned very quickly (about a week). Thank you Dawnamarie and your site supervisor Steve !

We rate this builder as one striving to achieve excellence in building quality. They are ready for customization, but the cost is a lot of poor construction quality. Every work is sub contracted and with poor quality control. House designs look great by Parkwood, but if you go closer, we saw a lot of poor finishing and construction mistakes that we do not expect from an average performance builder . Our experience is summarized below:

1. Unfinished washroom even after six months from possession: Countertop was left incomplete during possession, even after 6 months no action and then the cabinet sub-contractor discovered that countertop size wrong (size was less than cabinet size). Reworked three times and still with wrong measurements. Technicians came on Oct 7 scheduled week day and disappear after removing countertop for the day (no coordination). Family had to live without sink on one of bathrooms during weekdays. Had to bargain with supervisor and warranty manager a lot, and even then no definitive schedule fixed (asking for homeowners access to home another day).

2. Grout cracking inside the house floor tiles. Poor management of technicians. Warranty Department booked appointment and never kept schedules causing high inconvenience for family and kids. Even the builder's supervisors had no idea what is going on for the day (even if everything was on paper, nothing was followed).

3. Unfinished exterior work: Even after 6 months from April (summer), all the construction waste (concrete formation, logs of wood, sharp nails, bottles, wooden ramps etc) left on front of house. No rough grading even after 6 months in summer. Parging was skipped completely under the deck area. Front post at house entrance projects out of the soffit edges (builder claims it is as per design).

Winter: Water seeps from the basement walls and builder does nothing but removes the plastic wrapping around the insulation saying that it will dry out by itself.

Bottom line: We got a beautiful customized solution, but at the expense of lot of mistakes, imperfections and incomplete work after possession (at least 20-30 pending work items).

We have been in the market for a while and as soon as we walked into the showhome in glenridding we knew we liked this place with the 17 foot ceilings and the layout was perfect. I was told about a similar house building in keswick which will be done in approx 3 months. Great experience in buying the property. With so much less time to.possesion I had the option of choosing alot of options. Chris the site supervisor is awesome and actually listens and gets the job done. Thankyou
