Not a honest company

I have to pay the service for a rental water heater. If I rent a house and natural flooding from rain and poor city water management happens who has to fix it? If this water heater was my property to fire it up would cost no more than $50. I was also never advised there would be a fee for this repair on a rental unit when I booked the appointment. Enercare invoice change me for possibly water level closed blocked air intake. We have some water on our basement but it isnt close to the water heater. We have pay a service on rentas for possibly?

Customer service

The worst possible service ever. If anyone is contemplating home services, please use any other firm but this. Enercare is the absolute worst

Worst customer service, error billing, incompetence galore

Last year, I got billed in error for $400 that took me about 6 months to get reversed after many calls to customer service. Last month, I got charged upfront for a protection plan that is supposed to be paid monthly. Now trying to deal with that, but have been getting multiple calls from Enercare in the interim notifying me that I have balance owing. Worst company to deal with.

Rental Policies

I currently rent my AC unit from Enercare and have been trying to get the unit serviced for weeks. They take so long to schedule a service technician - 2 weeks or more - and the unit has not been working for a month now. Still paying a rental fee, though. Also, their customer service department is unorganized and offers so little support or information. If I was ever asked to provide a recommendation, it would not be a positive one. Right now I'm trying to understand how renting is a benefit if it takes them over a month to service their equipment.

Plumbing protection plan

I signed up for their plumbing protection plan. When I actually had a leak they said the earliest they could send someone out was 2 weeks. Clearly, I was not going to wait that long to fix a leak and had to call a plumber to come right away. I think that would be okay except after calling customer service to cancel my plan with them which I felt was not useful if I had to wait 2 weeks for a leak I was met with them stating I signed a contract for a year. I guess the contract only matters to them when it comes to having to pay them for a year. I asked the manager if there was something they could do about charging me an entire year because I had to pay a plumber. His response was "I didn't tell you to call a plumber." I told him to send me the bill and his response was "good luck with that." Save yourself the headache and just call a plumber that will come right away instead of paying Enercare monthly.

Never rent from Enercare!

NEVER RENT FROM ENERCARE! We had to renovate our basement because of leaks and decided to upgrade to an on demand heater because of space. I called in to Enercare to ask about my contract and I was told that if I I had a rental I could cancel at any time. I logged into my account to try and find any sort of indication of the contract period and it was not mentioned anywhere. I went ahead with the on demand purchase and installation. When I called to have it cancelled, I was told I had to pay the buyout fee of double the cost of a brand new hot water tank because I had a contract I entered into 3 years ago. They do not have the terms and conditions anywhere on my account and when I asked for a copy of it they said "we are upgrading our website" so there is not way to provide it to you. I now have to pay $1,750 to purchase something I don't need and is not even worth a fraction of that. I would have never gone ahead with the purchase of new equipment if I was not told there was no contract and I could cancel anytime by a Enercare representative. The customer service person told me confidently that I could cancel with no penalty at any time! I would not recommend anyone to ever rent any equipment from Enercare as their break fee is double the actual original cost after paying for 3 years.

Cancellation Process

i called in to cancel the water heater rental that came with the property i bought, the process was painful and was dragged out over multiple months which extended my rental by those months for an extra of approx. $160 in rental fees. The buy out for a 7 year old water heater was still $1153.
i understand their business model is setup to provide a service, but that's a service I'm not interested in, could they at least make it less painful to get out of !

AC annual inspection, clean-up

The service was part of an annual maintenance contract which I've terminated because of value for money not justified for me. The service this month was close to perfect as opposed of the last year check-up.
